AETHER is an immersive sonic meditation journey designed to be experienced continuously from beginning to end guiding listeners through deep psychedelic and meditative inner landscapes.

Created by Masaru Higasa and Pepper Proud, with featured contributions from Dave Hoover (flutes & harp) @davehoovercelticharper and Shannon Lee Hayden @shannonleehayden (cello & strings), this album weaves organic instrumentation and expansive soundscapes into a living field of presence.

A Living Journey

Allyson Grey — SECRET WRITING
For fifty years, Allyson Grey has expressed in her paintings an essentialized world view consisting of three root components: CHAOS, ORDER, & SECRET WRITING.
SECRET WRITING in Grey’s paintings is comprised of unpronounceable letters, free from the encumbrance of meaning. These untranslatable letters point to the inexpressible outpouring of creative essence, a spirit embedded in communication that cannot be reduced to concepts. SECRET WRITING, a language of pure spirit, while it appears to communicate, actually avoids any association with sound and are indecipherable. SECRET WRITING serves as a window of the rational mind through which invisible thoughts are physically manifest into physical things, a language of symbols representing the essence of creative expression.
In resonance with Auralin, Secret Writing becomes a visual echo of the same impulse 
a transmission beyond words.

🚨🚨🚨🚨 ‘𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐢𝐭 / 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬’ 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲❕two songs from the same noir pop ~ minimalist-maximalist electronic worldcorner of my mind. written, recorded, produced, and mixed by me 🎙️ mastered by @audibleoddities 🪻 with heavy inspiration from @fkatwigs, @portisheadofficial, @nineinchnails, @bjork, David Lynch, and The Legend of Zelda. I created these tracks 12 or 13yrs ago in my old bedroom in Philadelphia; each wall a different colour -& barely a setup to make anything (much less something for release). I pecked at the tiny graphic of a computer keyboard superimposed on the screen in a pirated version of Logic to create sounds, tweaking presets for hours and functioning purely on intuitively deep intentional listening…. drones + beats + precise vocal melodies to carry/cut thru. every 400 days or so I have returned and wondered if the time is right to release this music ~ if I wanted to update elements, if it should even reach the wider world. but I could never bring myself to change anything nor abandon the songs entirely. then one morning this past December, on a walk in southern Florida - I simply knew it was time and sent them off for mastering. Sometimes you just know. some songs have to travel a decade or more thru the stratosphere of your limbs before they’re ready to be born and I can think of no better moment for this birth than today: my 10 year anniversary of moving to New Orleans. a move I never expected to make nor planned much for, a leap I have come to understand better with each passing day week monthhouryear. an invitation from a native to come and make new music spawning the radical continuation -& amplification of my life’s purpose ~ solidifying home. cheers to the lustfully hungry watusi I photographed as @ttpring.69 fed ‘em out at @globalwildlifecenter last spring 🪽 for the cover art.
