Last month I spent a magical week at @renvylehousehotel as a @screenireland/Fís Éireann Fellow and participant in @stowestorylabs third annual Connemara Writers' Retreat. Beatrix is a filmmaker and photographer from Dublin. She works at the Irish Film Institute in Temple Bar. She’s been living her dream of working in the film and TV industry for 10 years now.

She’s moved around a lot: she was born in Dublin, spent a few early years in the U.S., then lived between her mom and grandparents in Dun Laoghaire, and her dad in Carlow and India, before attending boarding school in the U.K. and later, college in Connecticut on an academic scholarship. After graduating, she moved to Los Angeles where she lived and worked until moving back home to Dublin mid-pandemic to work on a Disney film.

Having personal experience with housing loss and insecurity, Beatrix is passionate about housing access and rights for all, which is why she’s representing Threshold tonight.

She loves swimming in the sea, 35mm film photography and spending as much time as possible with family and friends. Keep an eye out for her short film, Why Don’t You Dance? premiering later this year!

Beatrix is a filmmaker and photographer from Dublin. She works at the Irish Film Institute in Temple Bar. She’s been living her dream of working in the film and TV industry for 10 years now.

She’s moved around a lot: she was born in Dublin, spent a few early years in the U.S., then lived between her mom and grandparents in Dun Laoghaire, and her dad in Carlow and India, before attending boarding school in the U.K. and later, college in Connecticut on an academic scholarship. After graduating, she moved to Los Angeles where she lived and worked until moving back home to Dublin mid-pandemic to work on a Disney film.

Having personal experience with housing loss and insecurity, Beatrix is passionate about housing access and rights for all, which is why she’s representing Threshold tonight.

She loves swimming in the sea, 35mm film photography and spending as much time as possible with family and friends. Keep an eye out for her short film, Why Don’t You Dance? premiering later this year!
