Last weekend some of my photos were on display at the base of Whistler — the wild little big town I went to high school in.
I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve walked through there.
I’ve won snowboard contests there. Watched my brother jump through rings of fire there. Approached by my first sponsor there. Watched so much live music during the Olympics there. Celebrated some of my best friends’ biggest life moments right there.
Funny how one place can hold so much.
I included the write up from the exhibition above —
I’ve been criticized my whole life for not being enough of any one thing… I guess they never made a box that could fit me 😘
Felt special to see some of my worlds come together right there.
Thank you @oakley #oakleycommunitydays for including me and my art 💞

your reminder to get outside today…
Feeling lucky to have the mountains in my backyard. Yesterday was all about fresh air, a little movement and not rushing it. Plan was easy — home to the objective, back before dark — and then let the day take it from there.
Long days usually go better for me when the basics are covered. Protein’s one of mine. @stompnutrition

first chair to last chair for 10 days straight
snow just kept falling
so light it makes the day before disappear
so quiet you forget how hard you’re breathing
by the end of the day you’re exhausted in the best way
straight into ADB boots to onsen to dinner to sleep

No rush here 〰️
One of my favourite natural things on this planet is hot springs — mineral-rich water with magnesium, calcium, and sulfur pulled straight from the earth 🌍♨️
powder in the morning, tokyo by night
yes, same day
japan moves people differently 🚄 ⚡️

it snowed 100cms overnight and no one even blinked
we were digging the car out before it was light
outerwear still damp from the powder day before
hands numb just to get moving
snow removal machinery scraping
elders clearing snow off their roof
people pushing their tiny vans up the steep part of the road
we thought we’d make first chair
waited for hours instead for them to dig out the lifts
it’s lowkey what I love about snowboarding in Japan
snow light enough to disappear
soft enough to swallow sound
every turn quieter than the last

Funziona senza problemi su iOS, Android, Windows, macOS e browser moderni come Chrome e Safari.
Scarica foto (JPEG) e video (MP4) facilmente.
