COMPLEX CREATIVES @TJ.SAW1 & @ELLIOTHENSFORD
Over the years of working together, TJ Sawyerr and Elliot Hensford have built a distinct visual language, learned the ins and outs of the industry, and exchanged knowledge with each other, allowing for a completely fluid and trusting relationship.
Their individual and collaborative work caught the eye of director Simon Chasalow—a US-based mentor to the duo—who entrusted them to the co-creative directors for J. Cole’s ‘Two Six’ music video, the leading song on his final album.

On Feb. 13, 2009, Drake released his breakout mixtape ‘So Far Gone,’ catapulting the Young Money protégé to mainstream stardom practically overnight. The money, cars, and clothes (“I suppose”) all came with that success, but Drake remained calm when it mattered most.
Back in 2010, we caught up with Drake in the midst of this whirlwind, just months before dropping his official debut album ‘Thank Me Later.’ Reflecting on his iconic mixtape in his first Complex Cover, ‘So Far Gone’ celebrates its 17-year anniversary today—laying the foundation for Drizzy’s “Successful” career.

Like many classic albums, there’s more to ‘The College Dropout’ than just the music itself 🧸
22 years ago today, Kanye West released his debut album—celebrated for its banging beats (courtesy of Mr. West himself) and the honesty, vulnerability, and humor of Kanye’s then-evolving raps. But what really made the album such a special moment in hip-hop was how it bridged the gap between the underground and the mainstream.
A few years back, on the album’s 20th anniversary, we spoke to all the major players involved with making Ye’s debut. From A&Rs and managers like Dame Dash to rappers like Consequence and Common to videographers like Coodie, everyone had something to say about how this historic album was created ➡️

Funziona senza problemi su iOS, Android, Windows, macOS e browser moderni come Chrome e Safari.
Scarica foto (JPEG) e video (MP4) facilmente.
