The Sorry Window (our new album) is now OPEN and you can listen to it across streaming services everywhere.

We really hope you like it, much of it is about the struggle between ambition and self doubt, which ironically is probably also why it took us so long to finish it.

PS all Bandcamp pre-orderers are going to be sent a special surprise a bit later today via email!

Here is a break from the continuous The Sorry Window spam to let you know that somehow, Brainfreeze (our other album) has now had over a million streams!

We had so much fun making it with @_luke_pickering, back when Chris was still in the band. We also got to release it with the incredible @ilovealcopop, and worked on it with @devilmatt, @wallofsoundpr, @sonicprmusic, @atonalmusicagency with @prsfoundation Momentum funding. It was also stem mastered by Pete Fletcher at @black_bay_studio, and @tommings did some brilliant illustration work that helped us bring the artwork concept to life on posters, stickers and T-shirts.

I know we’ve gone on a lot about how amazed we are about the response to our DIY release of The Sorry Window. But honestly I don’t think we’d have made anywhere near as much progress with the new album without so many people’s incredible efforts towards making Brainfreeze happen, and so many people getting behind the album as a result of that.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, please enjoy this slideshow of things I have encountered since Brainfreeze’s release that may or may not have been influenced by its album cover / art direction.

(This is not meant in a negative way at all. As a graphic designer I LOVE it when you see things that you’ve worked on maybe possibly having some sort of effect on something else, or even that you came up with the same idea by coincidence. So if there is a chance we actually had anything to do with any of these then that’s actually pretty cool IMO).

Please enjoy this live version of Higher Ground from back in 2021, recorded just after writing it and figuring out how to use the drum machine. I remember sending it to everyone as like a ‘proof of concept’.

The vote that we did the other day asking which live version of a song people wanted to see next hilariously ended in a three way tie (if you count both Instagram and Youtube responses)! Higher Ground defo won on Instagram though so hopefully no one minds that this is out first.

PS Hopefully you are sensing a theme emerging with kind of content we are putting out, which may be attempting to build towards something to be revealed next week 👀

I’m honestly not sure of how limited the appeal of these ‘how to play’ videos are, but thought I’d limit the appeal of this one even more by telling you all about my journey to being able to record the drum part of Next Big Thing, and then my journey to eventually be able to play it again for the live version after going through an entire year of right-knee drama and recovery.

There is a full version of the whole song over on Youtube if you wanted to see if your kick pedal knee is up to the challenge!

It’s now been two weeks since we released our new album, and I (Jen) got the chance to virtually sit down with @d0m_sm1th and @soundspheremag magazine to talk all about all of the twists and turns and the entire journey towards making it. Plus what we’re hoping could maybe happen next.

Check it out via the link in our stories! X

Seeing as we shared a live version of Falling Apart Forever yesterday, here’s some info about the song and studio version.

(the live photos of us playing Bristol in the reel are by @ania_shrimpton)

Check out our practice room version of Falling Apart Forever (which got the most votes when we asked which song you wanted to see live the other day!), a version with more camera angles will also be out very shortly over on Youtube also.

FYI, Chris originally wrote this drum part and played it on the version you hear on the album (which we recorded waaayyy back during the Brainfreeze sessions!), so here I am doing my best Chris impression which I hope is up to scratch.

Hope you like it, let us know what you want to see next and keep your eyes peeled for more live stuff of all kinds very soon… maybe 👀

Just found out that The Sorry Window is number 52 in the official UK download chart! Which is something we never thought could be possible (hence why we only just found out), and especially amazing as we’ve never been in the chart before. Thanks everyone for making our dreams come true!!!! 🥹

The Sorry Window has been out for an entire week!

To say we’ve been surprised by the response to our DIY release is a huge understatement. Seeing people listen to it, share it, buy it, say nice things about the songs and videos, or discover the band for the first time over the last couple of weeks has been absolutely incredible, and we want to say a massive thank you - especially to everyone who has stuck with us over the last five or so years of us trying to get to this point.

We said that if there was any demand for more following the album, then we’d do our best to make it happen.. We still have a bunch of live stuff from the album to put out, and we’ll be sending out the vinyl in a few weeks, but do keep your eyes peeled for new things hopefully being announced in the future too :) x
