Baggio Military Hospital
Casa delle Suore, C19
Presented by Flawk Gallery @alcova.milano , Fret Not at This Narrow Room reimagines the lives once lived within the walls of Baggio Military Hospital. Through contemporary design, the exhibition reflects on restraint, discipline, and collective care.
Featuring independent designers alongside new works by Flawk, the show takes inspiration from Wordsworth’s Nuns Fret Not at Their Convent’s Narrow Room—where limitation becomes a kind of freedom. Here, a reductionist approach guides each piece: honest materials, visible processes, and meticulously refined forms.
We’re giving away 2 free tickets for you to come see us at Alcova. 🫶🏼

Had the pleasure of meeting with @flawk__ to delve into points like the precarious balance of home studio life, my time spent at the NYPL flipping through visual research, where I've been these years to where I'm going. You can read the full interview now on @scura.magazine

SCURA @scura.magazine We can’t get enough of @apohli_ , the design practice run by @lewis.gra and @martiens_ . Regular Scura readers might remember we visited Martina at her apartment in Copenhagen last year, where we discovered a layered and eclectic home filled with furniture and accessories that she and Lewis have made together. In fact, the pair laid the foundations for what became Apohli in this way, creating pieces they either wanted or needed for themselves.
Now, we’re back for more. This time on home turf in London to visit Lewis’s studio in Clapton, which, with its dedicated space for researching, designing and making, is the more official base of Apohli and its work across spatial, object and digital design. Recently, Lewis has painted over the previous floors – “they were a very cold grey” – with a warmer tone; adapted a daybed into a tabletop; and created a workbench for the workshop as well as shelving above the desks. “I have a lot of books,” he says. Discover how the space is allowing his creative practice to thrive by heading to Scura. Link in bio.

SCURA. @scura.magazine About halfway through our call with New York City-based designer @shwntng, he turns his laptop to the window, showing lower Manhattan in sharp focus against a clear spring sky. Then another turn, this time to a perfect sightline of Midtown. It’s a view that, understandably, still holds his attention, three years in.
It’s also shaped the home from the outset. “What do we want to be doing in front of the view?” he asks. The answer was eating, so the dining table takes centre stage. From there, the rest of the space fell into place. The living area is almost entirely given over to his and his partner’s creative practices – Lili, a food artist @likelysong – where chairs, lamps and objects trace a personal interest in the history of design, from Joe Colombo and Vico Magistretti to Gaetano Pesce and a growing circle of contemporaries.
Tang’s own work spans furniture, exhibitions and collaborative projects across the city and beyond, from his studio @tangthousand to the gallery @oneofone.works and his role at Philip Johnson’s @wolfhouse upstate. Each one is driven by a desire to work with what feels current – “with people, ideas and moments that feel specific to today,” as he puts it.

SCURA. @scura.magazine Imagine working with one of your in-laws on your home renovation: inviting them to have a say in key details, contribute to the decoration and even select furniture for you. For most people, it would be a shortcut to a full-blown family domestic. But for architect Margherita Zompa – founder of @zompastudio – and her brother-in-law, the artist/designer Filippo Muzi Falconi (@poposh_rupestre ), working together on Margherita’s apartment has not only been an argument-free affair, it has also resulted in spaces where the clarity of her architecture is only sharpened by the more organic textures and forms of Filippo’s nature-inspired works. Head to Scura to see more of the De Beauvior apartment. Link in bio.

A recent commissioned project – and the first outside the UK – is taking shape. We’re working on a new villa in Singapore, arranged around an internal pool area, with densely planted courtyards punctuating the plan to connect the living spaces to greenery and draw light inside.
As Flawk grows, you can expect to see more architectural and interior design projects like this one. If you have an upcoming project in the UK or internationally, we would love to talk – contact hey@flawk.co.uk or visit our website with details about your project.
Architecture, interior design, and render by us @flawk__ <3
