It’s been overwhelming to receive the love and support these past 2 weeks and I know there are many with more questions.

So here is the backstory.

At the age of 12, my family and I were in a near fatal car accident almost 25 years ago and as a result I paralyzed a 1/4 of my body - predominantly my right arm.

The next few chapters were full of rehab, back to back surgeries, a 13 hour nerve transplant, skin grafts, more surgeries and an unsuccessful brain stem spinal cord surgery that made the whole injury so much worse.

As a result of that surgery- it tripled my nerve pain, temporarily paralyzed my left ( only functioning arm for one year ) and the damage done to my spinal cord is permanent.

I have been fighting 2 battles simultaneously. One is to find the cure to one day live a chronic pain free life.
Second - to get the most function I can in my right arm.

I feel so much peace that we have tried everything we could to save my arm and this past year got the final diagnosis that my right hand was fully dead and my body was showing signs…it was time to let go.

So I made the empowering decision to amputate the lower half of my right arm. To let her go. I’m embracing this next chapter with some relief and hope.

But even though my life has had hardship, I would never take it back because of all the lessons God has taught me in my pain. To have empathy, compassion, perspective, and gratitude and as a result my life is full of joy, laughter , adventure and an incredible community. A community where we celebrate our wins and we mourn the losses together.

Hiking Mt Rainier Elopement day 1 + Sea Plane adventure in the North Cascades Day 2 that included flying to an alpine lake, hiking, picnic, canoeing, flying home at sunset and a dinner with a private chef!!

Now tell me - doesn’t that sound INCREDIBLE!? I love when couples see their wedding day as an opportunity to dream BIG!! A+Z said they wanted to dream big and I shared some rad ideas and I’m so glad they were on board!!
