Chuanchuan
I live in aftermoon :)

This Saturday on March 14th, a new curatorial public program about Objects, Family and Reminiscence will open at BooBoo Shanghai space in Xiansuo Creative Park!🪑
Below is the note from the artist Lily Wu @jfditdueditcitcti
“The question I’m proposing in this project is what a home looks like after itsdeconstruction. How was the “home” formed initially? How many stages of actions are required that lead to the process of deconstruction? What are the things that’s too meticulous that only objects can catch during the progression? Like knife marks on a cutting board, footprints on the wall, stains on sofa upholsteries… What remained and continuously grew afterwards?
To clarify, to me, furniture and the people who live with them inevitably influence on each other. Object’s physical existence carries a lot more intimate messages such as attachments, memories, reflections…also the “owner’s” personality, habits, perceptions…
The action of mark making between people and objects is bilateral. The marks can also be both physical and spiritual. However, when the home is “deconstructed” in a spiritual sense (meaning loss of memories, division of relationship, resentment in perception), leaving only its physical shell behind, the marks of the spirits become hard to trace. When words no longer carryauthenticity, faces become unrecognizable, do objects really have the agency to tell the true story?
In order to find out the answers to these questions, I decided to showcase the collection called Heaven Garden, Building B,Unit 201 that documents the mutation of family dynamics as well as the mutation of furniture.”
Can’t wait to see everyone on Saturday!🚪😝

Last Sunday, the public program combining film &installation art&music, organized by me, was finally unveiled to the public! Special thanks for the wonderful crew!(Installation: @gypsy_dfcSpeakers: @ssbebop46 @loulou_uolMusic: @kaneda_xiufeng)And the great photograph support @p1ny1_ @guanxin7144 :P
In “The Mute Lover” installation(P8-9), artist set up a continuously breathing LED light as the visual endpoint of “In Hiding” exhibition(P7-9), attempting to present “the deepest, unsayable vitality in human heart”,and this is where the program embark on.
Before this program, I’ve long been thinking about how our original genuineness slowly disappears over time. How far have we drifted from it? How did that distance form, and is it something we should try to bridge?
After collaborating with Gypsy, other questions emerged: how do we grow from babbling infants into adults whose language is shaped by rules, boundaries, and power? How do we become filled with conclusions and full stops, rather than curiosity and questions?
In Aftersun, a daughter comes to understand her late father more fully through old videotapes—frozen fragments of memory. Similarly, in the installation, the artist “retrieves” his own past. The flickering LED light becomes a synecdoche for human vitality itself: a primal, continuous breath.
This is where the theme of “Between Memory&Illusion” , given by the two speakers, naturally meets the installation’s connotation. Reconnecting with our memories is a meandering, constant experience, but well, it’s interesting.

Funziona senza problemi su iOS, Android, Windows, macOS e browser moderni come Chrome e Safari.
Scarica foto (JPEG) e video (MP4) facilmente.
