I’m thrilled to share some new songs with you. We started this takeaways thing to be a fun place for me to put demos and live recordings. I was working the self checkout and I knew it was my shot but all I managed to say was “excited for the show tonight, lads!” . i used ‘lads’ so they could relax and feel at home. A little trick in the industry called a code switch! They were kind enough but that was the end of the conversation. No matter how I dreamed, I just wasn’t one of the sons. I went to their concert several hours later. It was a perfect show. The room was tingling. That was the last time me and the sons were ever in the same room. But now 16 years later we can try that Whole Foods meet up one more time. Me and my lads; Marcus and his sons. Together at last.
