Andy Guerrero

Opening October 28th, a pop up exhibition in Milan at@dropcity_org which flashes back to the exhibition Prison Times: Spatial Dynamics of Penal Environments, which was staged earlier this year, I will be presenting a new video work that reprises the found footage used in my installation for that exhibition, that also incorporates the Andy Guerrero’s@nova.jp documentation of the performance that i did in my installation, as well as images and clips from my performance with Emmanuel Massillon @massi____ titled ‘Cell 72: The Cost of Confinement’, at @harlesdenhighstreet in London, where the gallery was converted into a mock prison cell that I was confined to for 72 hours.
The pop up coincides with the re launch of the adjoining publication released on the occasion of the exhibition.
Originally and now re-curated by the magnificent Giada Zuan@giada.zuang with the amazing Sofia Albrigo @sofia.albrigo once again as my neighbor.

“Following the exhibition in March 2025, Dropcity is once again screening some of the fundamental films that accompanied the exhibition, along with the opportunity to browse and purchase the book.
The book “Prison Times: Spatial Dynamics of Penal Environments” is a clinical analysis of the material, technological and formal conditions of a wide range of prison devices and furnishings. The book examines how varying concerns on security risks and structural durability, often framed as vandalism and violence, influence the design of these objects and the perception of time in prisons. The design components, often the work of anonymous designers, emerge as key elements in understanding how architecture and design shape the identity of the incarcerated individual and the collective imaginary associated with it.”
