Roc Nation artist and health advocate Philadelphia Freeway is standing with family caregivers and CareChoice 💜

After his own journey through serious kidney illness, transplant, and a renewed commitment to health and community, @phillyfreeway is using his voice to support caregivers pay, benefits, and the families who rely on them.

His story will feel familiar to many in the African American community- working hard, putting family first, and suddenly facing a serious diagnosis for yourself or someone you love.

At some point, almost all of us will either need care or give care, and no one should have to do that alone.

Top of the morning. When this rap thing was just a dream, @beaniesigelsp was the one who put me in and embraced me wholeheartedly. Twenty years later, when my son Jihad passed away, he was right there with me the other person in the grave helping me place my boy toward the East. 🤲🏾❤️

Our bond goes way beyond music, and In Sha Allah, it’ll go beyond this life and continue into the next. I love you, bro.

I don’t know what’s going on in the world right now all this negativity going on, especially between brothers who were blessed with a chance most people can only dream about. What we did with that chance was written by God before we even took our first breath. When you understand that, you see things differently. 💙

As for me, I’m going to keep being who I am and stand on what I stand on. I wish the best for everybody. We all have the same 24 hours let’s make them count! 💪🏾💯

Honored to share that “Heaven in the Darkest Place,” a song I wrote with the amazing and talented @chloetemtchine,has just earned an Honorable Mention in the 2025 International Songwriting Competition a win not just for us, but for the entire Transplant community.💪🏾🤲🏾💙💚

Chloe, a double‑lung transplant recipient, and mea kidney transplant recipient and donor dad poured our lived experiences into this record. That journey is what inspired the song, and this recognition means a lot.
