Over the past few years, Southern Thailand’s underground scene has been quietly building its own momentum. At the centre of it is REC. ‘N CUE — a Phuket-based collective connecting DJs, parties and a new generation of local artists shaping the island’s electronic music identity beyond tourism culture.

This Saturday, two of the collective’s core members arrive at POOLS. TISSANAI leans into groovy, funk-driven rhythms with a fluid sense of movement, while NUTNAI takes a more gradual approach, building tension through space, mood and deeper rhythmic shifts.

From Phuket to Dali, this feels less like a tour stop and more like a brief connection between two growing underground scenes meeting in one small room.

Rotterdam-rooted and now based in Saigon, Kimmah moves through electro, breaks, bass and acid with a fast, gritty and physical sound. Her sets are built on sharp turns, high-pressure rhythm and a close connection to the dancefloor.

Beyond the booth, she runs Scattered Waves, a platform connecting emerging sounds from East and Southeast Asia with wider club networks. It reflects the same energy found in her sets: direct, restless and moving between scenes.

Joining her is Sydney’s Niamhzk, whose feeling-led selections move between atmospheric electronics, sultry electro-punk, acidic synths and heavier body music, alongside POOLS resident Milknee.

Some DJs move between genres. Others move between cities, scenes and people.

For years, DONN has worked quietly within the flow of Asia’s underground electronic music network — connecting dancefloors across Singapore, Bangkok, Seoul, Tokyo and China through BASSIS Asia, artist exchanges and regional tour routing. Many of the artists who’ve passed through POOLS over the years were part of those connections.

His sets reflect that same sense of movement. Disco, Deep House, Broken Beats, UK Bass and Techno drift naturally into one another, shaped less by fixed styles and more by tension, rhythm and timing inside the room. Nothing feels forced forward; the energy builds gradually, patiently, through low-end pressure and subtle transitions.

This Saturday, DONN returns to POOLS.

A night shaped by years of digging, regional movement and dancefloor experience — returning once again to our small room in Dali.

This Friday, Sydney-based selector Bryn Mayo makes his first appearance at POOLS with an all-vinyl set. As part of the BeAvantGarde and Trip City circles, his approach leans toward long-form groove, low-end tension and subtle movement rather than fast transitions or obvious peaks.

Expect a night shaped through House, Dub, Minimal and deeper rhythmic textures — records pulled one by one, allowing the imperfections, warmth and physical weight of vinyl to fully inhabit the room.

This Saturday, POOLS hosts a pre-party for @greatwallfestival 2026.

Ahead of the festival’s 10th anniversary edition at Great Wall Valley this May, we bring one of its most immediate energies to Dali with Ma Sha — a New York artist whose approach works through pressure, displacement and low-end force rather than obvious release.

Her sets move with tension rather than excess: elastic, unstable, body-focused and precise. Less about peaks than about how a room is gradually reweighted, they pull the floor into a different kind of momentum.

His sound draws on old-school rave, cut through with broken rhythm, bass weight and jungle tension. Raw but controlled, sharp but never overstated, it holds a pressure that stays physical, direct and fully locked into the floor.
