Really excited that our new 3-part series with the @bbc has been announced… and some timing.
‘Ultras’ explores the world of the rising cultural subset of Scottish Football ultras. Following capos, the young guns, the police, the stewards, the YouTuber; we open the debate around whether this is the future of football fandom. Whether this community is a good outlet in the world of rampant individualism. Or whether it’s too dangerous and should be stopped…
Coming 17th March and trailer coming soon.

Buzzing that our work this summer for @nufc has picked up a Gold Clio award for outstanding creativity in sport.
A simple idea to bring the fans right to the heart of the summer transfer announcements grew into so much, making legends of Sammy, Janet and Bill to name a few.
Football at its heart is about the fans and this series was built on that.

We were delighted to be asked to deliver the creative and production for Newcastle United as they announced a huge new partner, the iconic Guinness.
As we do, we put real fans and their real memories of supporting their team at the heart of the whole thing.

Footballers hate doing media stuff! Not with Studio Something.
We treat the talent like real people who happen to do interesting jobs, we find out what they are into, what they find funny and we make clear what the ask of them is.
Then together we make something fun, without wasting their (or our) time.
That’s how this last year working with @nufc we got Tonali on the cocktails (fake), Joelinton having a rave and Big Dan Burn speaking French.

What if you shot Scottish football like it was a movie? When we set out to make Ultras we made a North Star to take care, craft and effort with every frame of the film. From how it was shot, to how it was framed and graded.
It was a story we cared about so wanted to make sure the film got that level of care.
If you’ve watched it what did you think?

When we first started making A View From The Terrace, we’d never made TV before ever, it was a total punt, and in those early days it was all hands to the pump. A dedicated group of people taking their chance and doing everything to make something each week they are really proud of.
As the show and @somethinggram has grown I’ve moved to directing less shows week to week but yesterday I was back in the hot seat and it reminded me how far we’ve all come as a show.
There’s people working on the show that have been there since day one, people have come and gone, so so many people have had their first job in the industry on the show and still at about *checks fingers* 130 episodes later folk are still putting their all in to making the show.
I took my camera into the studio to try and grab a wee feel of the BTS, to remind me you never know where a punt is gonna take you.

For lots of people in this country football is still somewhere that gives identity and community.
We wanted to follow a number of stories in ULTRAS that showed the stages of that coming of age and finding who you are…
and also make the playlist banging.

We set out in this documentary not to make an ‘inside Ultras’ expose or give a sensationalist take. You can find that other places. We followed a number of different people, from different backgrounds and ages that showed other sides to something that is only really shown in one way in the media.
We followed a 10 year old to show how young folk are being drawn into this from their phones, a mum who wants to understand what her kid is into, a YouTuber who makes a life from this, a group of lads in their 20’s who just want to have fun and a couple of older lads in their 30’s reflecting on who they were when this all started and who they are now.
They are not the entirety of the Ultras scene but they each offer a unique perspective on this culture. If you’ve seen it let us know what you made of it.

Funziona senza problemi su iOS, Android, Windows, macOS e browser moderni come Chrome e Safari.
Scarica foto (JPEG) e video (MP4) facilmente.
