Strange Signals at @selva_nyc, built for after-dark listeners 8PM until late. It’s a night of left-field electronics: moody atmospheres, textured soundscapes, hypnotic pulses. somewhere between the dancefloor and a dream.

Skip the gym. It’s National Exercise Day, and we’re getting our reps on the dancefloor. Sweat guaranteed. @hartbarnyc 10pm til late.

🗯️OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT‼️Kung Flow is taking center stage at @brooklynmuseum First Saturdays in May! We are fusing sound, movement, arts & culture into a multidisciplinary, global dance party celebrating Asian-American creativity. Our set will feature some amazing collaborators: an interactive dance performance highlighting AAPI queer voices by Samaw Dance Company (@resonancedancenyc), wardrobe design from upcycled East Asian fabrics by Izzy Li Kostrzewa of @isaboko_, and stage design by visual theater artist @themaricama.
FEATURED CREATORS:
💃 Samaw Dance Company is a Brooklyn-based, AAPI-led company directed by choreographer @davidcartahenalee, creating work that uplifts AAPI+ and queer stories through street and club dance forms alongside contemporary and jazz practices. For this performance, they’ll share excerpts from their repertory alongside solos and interactive moments, moving through contemporary and house dance. Then join them on the dance floor for a follow-along session with house grooves and waacking.
👚 Isaboko is a clothes-making project dedicated to turning vintage kimonos and obis into new pieces, and honoring the weavers, dyers, and silkworms of the original materials. Every piece they make is made from discarded textiles + zero waste patterns. They will also have a booth at the museum!
🎭 Maria Camia is a Brooklyn-based, Filipino-American Visual Theater Artist and Introspective Hypnosis Practitioner who has dedicated 13 ongoing years to creating Aricama, the land of practice play and healing in pursuit to make imagination useful in a traumatized society.

The event is free but registration is required and includes Museum general admission. Tickets will be released on April 13 for the public. Ticket link in bio. Partiful event link to serve as a reminder also in bio.
