I’m a girl, but I also have some not-so-girly hobbies 😅

I’m so grateful to live in a place where I can pursue all kinds of things, and it’s still acceptable! Whether that’s modifying a truck and being able to have a fully present conversation with a mechanic, or knowing the ins and outs of living out of a vehicle for months at a time, orrrrrr feeling more confident in grizzly territory than a mall or city - I’m pretty proud of the things that set me apart.

It’s not everyone’s cup of tea. But it’s mine.

What’s your cup of tea look like? 😅 do you have any hobbies that go against what you “should” be interested in?

“So Taylor, how’d you get started in this content thing anyhow?”

Well…that is quite a story.

It all starts with Alaska. And a group trip.

“So the spot is yours if you want it.”
“You mean I won it??” I couldn’t believe it. I was scared to breathe for fear it was a dream.
“Yeah, it’s totally yours if you want to come!”

One leap of faith changed everything.

$30k+ in debt.

One free, all-inclusive trip to Alaska staring me in the face.

One dream on the line.

Two photography gigs later, my flights were booked. Mere weeks later, I was in the air heading towards what would become my destiny.

To rewind a little, I had identified as a photographer since high school. I fell in love with the art and had friends who were also photographers. They got me started, I got my first camera, and a short time later, I was off to college. My friends and I would go out and have photoshoots multiple days a week, just having fun with different locations and objects.

We didn’t have a purpose. We were just living.

I started to realize, over time, that people made money from this whole social media thing. But how??

It would be years before I ever fully figured it out. One trip to Alaska changed it all.

Alaska is magical like that. Every experience there changes my brain chemistry in some way. It holds lessons, enchantment, an untouched freedom.

If you’re not careful, it might change your life, too.

I’m so grateful for this journey I’ve been on. I’ll be real, it’s not all sunshines and smiles. It’s hard. It’s sometimes boring. It’s often infuriating and frustrating and there are days I want to give up.

But every bit of it is worth it for the extra adventures I get to share with my daughter because of it. Because of the places we get to wake up together.

Toyota 🤝 the best adventure partner ❤️☺️

I couldn’t imagine a better adventure partner than my Tacoma! We’re heading into 10 years, 200,000+ miles, and a lottttttt of big life events together. I genuinely couldn’t have imagined doing any of it in anything else. @toyotausa

What was really happening in Iceland that you didn’t see ⬇️

Here’s some behind the scenes moments from Iceland this year. Some things that didn’t make “the cut” 😅

Travel is an incredible experience. I feel SO blessed and grateful to have been able to build a life that allows me to go as much as I do. But that doesn’t mean it’s always sunshine and rainbows! 🌈

If you’re new here, I’m Tay! I travel full time, am a single momma, and have been building a life from the ground up that focuses on adventure, travel, authenticity, and lasting friendships. If this sounds like your vibe, follow along! ☺️

If you’re looking for your travel friends, this is for you ⬇️

A year ago I didn’t have friends to travel with. I had been going through a period of time where a lot of my old friends didn’t fit with where I was, but I also didn’t know how to find my core tribe.

That all changed when I hosted a group trip to Iceland 🇮🇸

I met several of my now core friends on that trip. The experience was so top tier that I went on two more group trips in the months after that, the first to Yellowstone and the second to Iceland (again)!

What started as a way to find my tribe became core memories and a new way of love. Group travel really changed a lot 🥹

If you’re looking for your travel tribe, come travel with me!! I’m hosting a group trip Banff in September and there are only 19 days left to sign up! Comment “BANFF” below and we’ll send you all the details ☺️

I’m looking forward to more mountaintop campfires in Colorado + California and beyond soon. Who’s interested in a campfire hang? 😉

This adventure was brought to you by @enterprise 🙌🏻 (not sponsored - I paid for the rental lol)

Pretty sure I saw every single hour last night 😂 Car camping really can be hit or miss. While I love a good road trip, I really do sometimes just prefer my own rooftop tent or bed these days.

One of the biggest parts of frequent travel is figuring out how to sleep anywhere, because any good adventure is backed by proper rest. Here are some tips to make the most of your sleep on a trip:

💤Try to have a routine you can replicate anywhere. My evenings are all identical - dinner, shower, bedtime snack, magnesium spray on feet, skincare routine, read a fiction book, and head to bed. Make something that feels good for you that you can do anywhere!

💤Try to stick to the same bed and wake up times as closely as you can. This gives your body something to predict so the only thing that changes is your location.

💤Bring a comfort object! I typically travel with my pillow or a blanket (or both if I have room!) so I have the same cozy comforts around when I’m sleeping.

Tell me your favorite car camping story in the comments! 😅

This time a year ago, I thought I’d met the love of my life.

15 days from now, he’d break my heart with no explanation. I’d never hear from him again. And it would be the catalyst for every moment after.

I didn’t eat for a week. I couldn’t sleep for months. I had dreams and nightmares and debilitating anxiety for what felt like an eternity.

I had no idea the breakup was coming, and, to this day, I have no clue what happened.

After about a month of little to no improvement, I faced a decision: move forward with my original summer plans, or maybe give into the hopelessness that claimed my heart.

I chose the latter.

I drove across the country with a few $100s in the bank, a truck that was barely fixed, and a tiny thread of hope that something more existed in the West.

It was the best decision I ever made.

I stand here, a year later, living in so many answered prayers and childhood dreams. And while I’m still a little (very) weary of dating again, I’ve experienced more healing and growth than ever in my life.

I didn’t have a plan when I left. I wasn’t ready. I wasn’t confident. I wasn’t even that brave.

I cried in fear a lot. My mom drove to Oklahoma with me, and I trembled for hours and fought panic attacks after dropping her off at the airport.

But I knew there had to be more.

More hope. More to life. More to come. And God didn’t disappoint in that thread of belief ❤️

Sometimes all it takes to change your life is one small, messy, shaky first step. One tiny ounce of belief that there’s more for you. One small effort to get out of your comfort zone.

Worst case, you can always go back to your old life.

Best case, you see everything you dreamed of come to life.
