Performing live is what made me want to pursue music full-time when I was younger, and being on stage still hits different. 20 years ago today 🥹😅🤣

My first ever gig! It was at my old primary school fair and we played mostly punk/emo/rock covers 🤘🏻 Originally called ‘Cascade’ we renamed ourselves ‘The Capitals’ when we joined the 00s indie-pop revolution of bands with ‘The’ in their name 🤘🏻

This pic is hilarious for so many reasons - each pose is iconic - but also represents the start of a beautiful journey for me in wanting to do music full time. With The Capitals we had some cool moments like getting played on Radio 1 and supporting bands like @reverend_makers and @cagetheelephant in Wrexham, and I frequently talk about our first battle of the bands being a real lightbulb ‘I gotta do more of this’ moment - looking out into the crowd seeing a bunch of teenagers go nuts to the music we were playing, loved it then, loved it ever since 💡

20 years later that little lad is still playing guitar, still f***ing loves gigs and has seen music take him all over the world - get in 💥💥💥
