What a night!

The Audie Awards - a celebration of our community, of our stories.

I started my journey 12 years ago with a nomination for Best Science Fiction, just starting out as a new performer.

This year, I returned to the category not only as a narrator, but as an author, director, and producer, too. And I got to bring a big cast of my dear friends and colleagues along for the ride.

We didn’t take home the prize, and I don’t mind one bit. It was a true honor to be nominated and recognized for the work we did.

And I was overjoyed that my dear friend of many years @marinireland and my good buddy and neighbor @the.ray.porter got the win! I’m astounded by their talent, and they are an inspiration to me. (They are also part of OUR cast, so it was a little unfair they had to compete against themselves). 😅 Big congrats to their co-narrator Stephanie Sheh, and author (and Oscar-nominee) Eric Heisserer. And bravo to all the other nominees, too!

HUGE thanks to @thescottbrick, @suzanneefreeman, and @racheljnarrates. Superstars, and cherished friends. Your support means the world to me. I love you guys.

Also there to celebrate in person and wear some fancy medallions were @januarylavoy (inducted into the Hall of Fame last night!), @neilhellegers (full cast!), @cynthia__farrell, @ramondeocampo, and @pjochlan. Proud to have you as cast-mates and as friends.

And one big shout of gratitude to the rest of our superstar cast who were not there, but hopefully their ears were ringing with applause from afar.

5 years ago to the day my debut novel was released.

Tonight, the final book in the trilogy is up for Best Science Fiction audiobook of the year at the 31st Annual Audie Awards in New York City.

Beyond proud to walk the red carpet with many of our incredible cast this evening. Whatever happens, I’m so grateful for our nomination, and for this epic journey.

And tomorrow begins the next five-year plan.
