In today's Bulletin article, John Gilchrist, @TheraPsil's Director of Communications, offers a ground-level look at how clinicians in Canada have been preparing to deliver psychedelic-assisted therapy.
British Columbia's three-year decriminalization exemption did something quietly significant: it created the legal conditions for rigorous, clinician-only experiential training to take place. Gilchrist walks us through what that training involved — from preparation and consent to supervised sessions and integration — and makes a compelling case for why this kind of preparation is essential to safe, competent care.
As the policy landscape continues to evolve, one thing remains clear: patients entering psychedelic-assisted therapy deserve practitioners who are genuinely prepared.

42 years ago today, some of the most influential voices in psychedelic history gathered at UC Santa Barbara for the Psychedelics and Spirituality Conference, also known as Psychedelic Conference II.
Held during the height of the Reagan-era “Just Say No” campaign, the conference became a rare space for open dialogue around psychedelics, consciousness, spirituality, and research.
It was here that Sasha Shulgin announced the discovery of 2C-B, and where Terence McKenna emerged as a major public voice in psychedelics.
