Alright y'all we back, I went to Gnocchi on 9th today (50 greenwich ave)🍝

I just got out of work and made my way down into the near heart of the West Village, there's a few of these around the city but this one was closest to me

I got their bolognese gnocchi and a diet coke, (i honestly was craving a beer with this order but they do not serve alcohol in this tiny yet warm and inviting restaurant) the seating is pretty minimal and it's clear this is a grab n' go type establishment or somewhere you'd pull up to at 9:00PM on a weekend for a stand outside kind of bite

Within their tiny confines they do manage to present a surprisingly wide variety of gnocchi, ranging from pesto to vodka sauce, and with fresh burrata available it's hard to leave unsatisfied

Flavor wise, it was really solid - you can tell they put a lot of love into their Chinese takeout inspired boxes, it was rich, creamy, and a has some good chew to it, the beef of the bolognese was well seasoned and honestly made the dish overall, i found myself digging for more pieces of beef as i ate it

Now, maybe its because it was my first time having gnocchi but it had a super unique texture that you only find with gnocchi (so sayeth the friendly worker behind the counter)

Price wise, for a regular bolognese gnocchi and a diet coke I paid $21.78: which to be honest, is not an amazing price for the portion size you get; albeit it is very filling -
and all in all, I enjoyed the food and wouldn't mind eating there again if i found myself walking by one on a hungry evening in New York City, it's something that i'll surely crave as it becomes summertime in full swing

From my first review I received a lot of DM's asking me why I don't record videos or even use those Raybans for ease of access to content; and my answer is simple, I feel like the public has been subjected to enough video sunglasses creators for the time being, and with that number growing, the amount of friends and family I know in the service industries who say they fear of being recorded and used for content is a lot.

I will stay a simple patron and provide casual honest reviews of the food that calls to me

Gnocchi on 9th: ★★★☆☆ 3/5

I said a few months ago that I wanted to start doing casual food reviews, but instead of waiting for it to be perfect (the right camera, the right angles, lighting, etc) I'm just going to start doing it and figure out the rest as I go (starting something with no experience is always better than not doing something because of some self perceived need for it to be polished enough to be presentable)

So tonight we got Milly's Neighborhood Bar, 397 Green Avenue in Brooklyn

Me and my homie pulled up at 8:15 on a Sunday and it was absolutely packed in there, started the night off with drinks and their Chopped Cheese Egg Rolls (I was too fried to get a good picture of them) but they were literally so good I damn near shed a tear at the table, the crispiness of the egg roll crunching down into the flavor of a chopped cheese was phenomenal.

The drink menu is extensive and creative, and full of hits, it's the kind of place you have to visit multiple times to appreciate all the variety in their alcoholic offerings.

There was a girl having a birthday two tables over from us so we got em' a round of drinks.

The burger here, the Milly's Burger, is for lack of a better description... f*cking delicious. Perfectly cooked.

The food is a surprising standout to a place that is labeled as a bar, and while their drinks are easily the best part of the experience, the food is nothing to scoff at.

Shoutout to the server Marcus who gave me a free drink and was an absolute pleasure to be around.

I'll be honest if I don't like something though. My only concern at Milly's was that the tables are small but that's more of a reflection of the smaller space, they make it work well for the space they provide.

It would be a missed opportunity for me not give a “star” rating at the end of my review(s), given my name...

(if you like this type of thing feel free to let me know but also if you don't, let me know) Introducing my side project @justforkinround
