NOW LIVE: PD KICKSTARTER NO. 16

Travel—it’s so inspiring! Aspirational! Enchanting!

Except for the parts that are *not* those things: 4am wake-ups, squeezing your bags through subway turnstiles, shuffling through security lines, and pretty much the entire end-to-end experience of being on an airplane. Modern travel frequently makes you feel exhausted, frustrated, and for lack of a better term, gross.

That’s why we’re back on Kickstarter with 4 brilliant new travel bags that elevate your life on the road—meticulously designed around the cramped and hectic realities of modern travel—so you can feel organized, comfortable, and in-control. We’re introducing new formats and styles with game-changing functionality hidden within a clean, upscale aesthetic, that put delight and dignity back into your travel experience.

Travel isn’t one-size-fits-all, and neither is the gear that makes it possible. As long as no two trips are the same, we’ll be hell-bent on designing better tools for living light and moving fast.

The first US Congress amended the Constitution to protect civil liberties from a tyrannical or overreaching government. Those ten amendments are known as the Bill of Rights. Call your representatives if it feels like DC needs a refresher.

Autumn called our Southern Hemisphere PD family and @tylekki and @cal.drogo most certainly answered.

This past April, Peak Design ambassador, expedition photographer, and photo tour leader, Ty Lekki led a tour deep in El Chaltén, Argentina for eight days of chasing epic fall conditions… and just so happened to be joined by @cal.drogo, who arrived fully geared out in (just about) every PD product under the sun.

A few words from Ty below:

I guided an eight day photo tour here in El Chaltén, Argentina during peak autumn colors, from April 3rd through 10th, which in my opinion is usually the best week of the season. We spent multiple nights camping at Laguna Torre while photographing Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre from all different angles throughout the week. The lenga forests were fully turned, with bright reds, oranges, and yellows covering the valleys around the massif. We hiked through glacier valleys, rivers, lakes, and forests each day chasing different weather and light conditions around Patagonia.

During the trip Calvin carried his daily camera setup, tripod, extra layers, toiletries, and personal items in the Peak Design Outdoor 25L. Since camp was already set up for us at Laguna Torre, we were able to move lighter through the trails while still carrying everything needed for long days out shooting in the mountains.

Got a mission coming up? Comment yours below and we’ll kit out one of you with the perfect pack for it.

Does Gen Z say oh snap? We’ll leave that debate to our totally unskewed poll & comment section below… but in the meantime, the one real snap we can confidently attest to is our Micro Anchor mechanism.

Much like our beloved Anchor system, these tiny little guys are the equally secure younger sibling: smaller, lighter, lower-profile, but still built to click in with a deeply satisfying 🫰oh snap🫰energy. If you’ve been having trouble removing them, you’re not alone. There’s a tiny bit of a learning curve by design. Once you know the move, you’ll be snapping in and out like a pro.

Introducing Carry Missions: a new series fueled by you, our Peak Design community.

We believe anything can be a mission—a summit push, beach walk, a quick errand that turns into a full-blown side quest or even a dumpling crawl through Chinatown. We want to be the bag that shows up for it all.

First up, one of Peak Design’s very own… our Creative Director, Jason Wilkins, with a long weekend send up Wheeler Peak in the Sangre de Cristo mountains of New Mexico.

“Wheeler Peak is a bucket list item for any New Mexican hiker. As the highest point in the state, at 13,167 feet, it’s often approached from the Taos Ski Basin via a straightforward trail past Williams Lake. But one of the best things about this area is how many ways in and around there are. We wanted a long weekend in the mountains, and this range gave us endless options.
If I had to pick one word to describe this hike, it would be varied.

Our two-night trek took us through lush forests, idyllic alpine lakes, rugged tundra peaks, and along ridgelines with sweeping views of valleys. Like most hikes in New Mexico, we were almost always alone—except for the crowd at the summit and a small group of bighorn sheep who watched us eat lunch on a slope full of wildflowers. It felt exhilarating to be so exposed at the top, and so small on the traverses. This trip checked a lot of boxes for us: good mileage, quiet camps, and different terrain each day. It’s a format we’ll be trying to repeat in the future.”

Got a mission coming up? Planning on documenting it? Drop it below & we’ll choose one of y’all to supply the pack and feature you in our next series post.

ICYMI, last week, we announced Peak Design made @fastcompany’s Most Innovative Companies of 2026 list. So in honor of that, we’re peeling back the curtain to show what really goes down at PDHQ, *ahem* where the flame of innovation always burns.

This is one special place to work and if this looks like your kind of chaos, head over to the Careers page of our website.

But all in all this really ain’t about us. It’s about you. So thank YOU for being apart of the Peak Design community.

🎥 & a special thanks to: @skycandystudios

Instagram
