Wetlands are among the most productive ecosystems on our planet.
They filter water, protect against flooding, provide habitats, and store much more carbon dioxide (CO2) per unit area than forests. Although they cover only 6% of the Earth's land area, they store 30% of terrestrial CO2.

The beginning is always difficult...
I haven’t drawn in a long time. When we were in Hong Kong, I bought a beautiful ink brush/pen. To motivate myself, I came up with a small morning routine, a kind of game:
Make yourself a coffee.
Draw a tree.
Listen to the birds.
Repeat (1-3 times).
Draw a circle.
Listen to the trees and birds.
Repeat (1-3 times).
If the circle didn’t turn out to be a circle, draw a kiwi.
The routine and the playful perspective give me a sense of calmness toward each drawing – nothing has to be perfect.
Drawing in nature is a wonderful way to perceive your immediate surroundings. You observe the details of nature and listen to the many sounds of the more-than-human-world.
