It’s one of my favourite places on earth, and I’ve known Vaimiti (renowned French Polynesian longboarder Vaimiti Teiefitu) for years but hadn’t seen her in a while. I was out there shooting and saw this surfer taking off down the line, not realising it was Vai until she was super close! I had the feeling maybe this photo was nice but it wasn’t until later when I saw it on the computer that I realised just how beautiful and cool it was!” Photo: Beatriz Ryder
