Most of them are just content libraries where you practice alone. But meditation was meant to be done in community. That “social support” is what makes habits stick. Without it, people fall off the wagon.

Hemingway said this as a joke but he's not wrong, sleep is one of the few genuinely healthy things accessible to us all.. The problem is most of us are terrible at it. Most of us never actually pause long enough to watch a desire pass through us.

We immediately react.
Check the phone.
Say the thing.
Eat the thing.
Escape the discomfort.

But one of the most powerful things @danharris points to here is that the urge itself is temporary.

“If you just sit with it… it will subside.”

And in that small space between impulse and action, something changes. You realize you don’t have to be completely owned by every thought, craving, or emotion that appears.
