That’s a wrap on the 2026 #SundanceFilmFestival! 🎬
Thank you to everyone who joined us in Park City, Salt Lake City, and online for eleven unforgettable days of premieres, discoveries, and shared experiences. We’re deeply grateful to the artists, audiences, partners, staff, and volunteers who made this year possible.
We also honor Robert Redford, whose vision created a lasting home for independent voices.

We are thrilled to celebrate Sundance Institute-supported filmmaker Abinash Bikram Shah, whose “Elephants in the Fog” (Nepal), developed through our 2023 Screenwriters and Directors Labs, has world premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival.
Set in a Nepalese village nestled in the heart of a forest inhabited by wild elephants, Pirati, the matriarch of a Kinnar community, dreams of escaping to live with the man she loves. But when one of her daughters goes missing, she must investigate and choose between her desire for freedom and her responsibilities to her community.
“Elephants in the Fog” received the Un Certain Regard Jury Prize.

Thinking of Rose Byrne in “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You,” if you know you know. Moms deserve an award, a nap, and a little peace today. Happy Mother’s Day.

Mexico City, thank you! 🇲🇽
Sundance Film Festival: CDMX 2026 came to a close surrounded by an incredible community of artists, audiences, and staff. Together with @cinepolismx, we spent four days sharing films, thoughtful conversations, and new perspectives that will stay with us long after the final screening.
From packed theaters to powerful panels, every moment reflected the spirit of independent storytelling. Until next time.
