Our wedding linens began as my paintings
And I aligned with my dear friend Beth from @alba.tableware
For both the rehearsal and main day for my own wedding.

Then the florals were designed sensitively around them by a very special (never done before) floral collaboration. @paularooneyfloralworld with @breige__ @thelittleflower_atelier @foxflora__

Beth from @alba.tablescape and I have been quietly planning these linens for a long time. Many years we have worked together and finally the time came. I shared my desire with her to put my paintings into linens and together we both felt SO inspired.

This was a childhood dream of mine, and many of these watercolours I painted during my recovery. I had very clear ideas of what I wanted to create.

I approached Beth,and we found ourselves on the same page to create something special.

It felt like a full circle moment, especially with my husband’s background in print and design, founding two global fashion companies.

But it was my dear friend Beth from @alba.tableware who made it possible to bring them to life.

We’ve worked together for years, with her linens featured across so many of my shoots. When I showed her my paintings, we both knew instantly this had to become something more.

So we turned them into fabric.

What you see here is the beginning of that. It was art translated into something you can experience, not just observe.

Together we created a premium rental collection for weddings, now available, with an official launch coming in June.

The florals were designed to work in harmony with the linens and brought to life through an incredible collaboration between @PaulaRooneyfloralworld, @breige__ , @foxflora__ and @thelittleflower_atelier each adding their own layer to what became a fully immersive setting.

🌷I turned my paintings into our wedding! 🌷

From the tablescape to the fashion, bags, and textiles. From my husbands career history founding two companies in global fashion & print design for labels like Karl Lagerfeld, Chloe, Moschino, Zimmermann, to me as a bride designing my own fabrics and textiles for our wedding, and it all came from those watercolours I painted the year I was unwell.

THE REHEARSAL DINNER

Our welcome dinner was held in the courtyard of Bastide de Laurence in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, set to Frank Sinatra and La Vie en Rose as the sun fell across the stone.

I wore a bespoke dress created from my own watercolours, designed in collaboration with @wildenlondon.

Those paintings became the foundation for everything. I had always envisioned soft stone linens layered with florals in deeper, warmer tones of burgundy, pink and green, inspired by a Mallorca wedding I had seen years before, and by old-world gatherings of the Audrey Hepburn era and Slim Aarons’ imagery. We developed the tablecloths and napkins as part of the collection with @alba.tableware. Seeing my artwork move from paper into fabric, and then across the tables, felt incredibly special.

I’ve shared some of the vision boards and working documents here too, which were part of how I communicated the feeling of the day. They became such a meaningful part of my bridal journey and developing the vision.

My friends and family arrived in pinks, warm yellows, soft sky blues, deep greens and berry tones, each look sitting effortlessly within the design.

I worked very closely with @fleurdelacouture on the silk florals, and she understood the vision so intuitively. What Genni and her team created was extraordinary. Thousands of stems were sourced together, hand-selected at Genni’s suppliers, transported from the UK to Provence, and built entirely on site. Every arrangement was made by hand using traditional techniques, creating the softness and movement we had discussed in so much depth.

We refined the floral designs together on site in the days before, from urn design visits to final floral and colour adjustments, which made the whole process feel even more personal. What I loved most was seeing the team building it all in Provence, allowing space for instinct and responding to the setting in real time.

There is something very special about working with people who care this deeply. Genni is one of them. She listens, she understands, she holds real integrity, and what she created felt truly otherworldly.

The tableware was layered and quietly decorative, using a warm ivory base using ceramic edged chargers with delicate almost lace like embossing that adds softness and texture rather than shine, under a plate with fine sage green toile de jouy detailing - ornate but restrained and reminiscent of antique European porcelain. Paired with painted silver cutlery and cut glass, it then becomes a tablescape that looks collected, storied, and gently timeworn - like pieces that have evolved together rather than been matched all at once.

Textiles were developed from original artwork we directed and translated into print, used sparingly to bring rhythm and character without overwhelming the setting.

This welcome dinner was conceived as an interpretation of the antique market courtyards and riverside restaurants of nearby L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and spaces layered with objects, texture, and time.

At the outset of the design process, the bride was drawn to an enduring British colonial interior design aesthetic - something rooted in timeless elegance and combining tradition with modernity. Alongside this, there were competing colour preferences: a desire for pale yellow and deeper greens from the bride, a request for the introduction of pink and brighter tones from the groom, and a growing interest in using pattern.

Our role is to distil these preferences for clients - often disparate in tone - into something cohesive, regionally grounded, and emotionally resonant.

For the the welcome party we developed this colour palette into sun-washed ochres, deep forest green, faded pinks with dusty rose and mauve, and timeworn neutrals, dramatically deepened with raspberry and claret wine colours - shifting the aesthetic into a Provençal context with a heritage botanical foundation. 

The tableware was layered and quietly decorative, using a warm ivory base using ceramic edged chargers with delicate almost lace like embossing that adds softness and texture rather than shine, under a plate with fine sage green toile de jouy detailing - ornate but restrained and reminiscent of antique European porcelain. Paired with painted silver cutlery and cut glass, it then becomes a tablescape that looks collected, storied, and gently timeworn - like pieces that have evolved together rather than been matched all at once.
