Since buying my M3 last fall, I’ve fallen in love with so many things about the S65. However, I wasn’t a fan of it leaking in my garage and smelling like oil through the air vents 🤮
So I got a pair of valve covers from @ecstuning, which are absolutely gorgeous, and dropped it off at my buddy @joerosenbauer’s shop. I trust Joe with all of my BMWs, and wanted him to inspect it from top to bottom to see what else it might need.
He confirmed that it did indeed need new valve covers (which turned out to be hacked together by one of the previous owners), but also needed a handful of other stuff. He ended up replacing the oil filter housing gasket, timing cover gaskets, motor mounts, tightened up some things with the suspension, and reminded me that it desperately needs new tires. He was also kind enough to code out the TPMS light and fix the broken comfort access.
When I went to pick it up, I dropped off my 135i with a boatload of parts. Putting that car in the ditch did a little more damage than I had suspected. Joe is going to fix it up and make it better than new, and I’m excited to pick that up whenever he’s finished with it 😌
In the meantime, it feels good to know that the M3 is in tiptop shape. I also have a set of tires on the way from @fitmentindustries that should be here any day now…

He ended up replacing the oil filter housing gasket, timing cover gaskets, motor mounts, tightened up some things with the suspension, and reminded me that it desperately needs new tires. He was also kind enough to code out the TPMS light and fix the broken comfort access.
When I went to pick it up, I dropped off my 135i with a boatload of parts. Putting that car in the ditch did a little more damage than I had suspected. Joe is going to fix it up and make it better than new, and I’m excited to pick that up whenever he’s finished with it 😌
In the meantime, it feels good to know that the M3 is in tiptop shape. I also have a set of tires on the way from @fitmentindustries that should be here any day now…

Since buying my M3 last fall, I’ve fallen in love with so many things about the S65. However, I wasn’t a fan of it leaking in my garage and smelling like oil through the air vents 🤮
So I got a pair of valve covers from @ecstuning, which are absolutely gorgeous, and dropped it off at my buddy @joerosenbauer’s shop. I trust Joe with all of my BMWs, and wanted him to inspect it from top to bottom to see what else it might need.
He confirmed that it did indeed need new valve covers (which turned out to be hacked together by one of the previous owners), but also needed a handful of other stuff.
