The Flow Traders Foundation had a great time donating to @stichtingjarigejob! This foundation believes every child deserves to celebrate their birthday. They provide birthday boxes to families who cannot afford it. The box contains a present, decorations and some treats to give to their classmates. Four of our colleagues were invited by @stichtingjarigejob to shop gifts for children from various age groups.

Last week, a group of Flow employees volunteered at the Amsterdam Olympic Children Games. It was an amazing event with a lot of excited children who played different sports such as athletics, soccer, BMX and many more. Thank you for inviting us Jeugdfonds Sport Amsterdam!

Last week, a group of Flow employees volunteered at the Amsterdam Olympic Children Games. It was an amazing event with a lot of excited children who played different sports such as athletics, soccer, BMX and many more. Thank you for inviting us Jeugdfonds Sport Amsterdam!

This year, Stichting Armoedefonds (The Poverty Fund Foundation), with the support of the Flow Traders Foundation, will distribute a record number of School Supplies Card to 13.155 children.

One of the charities we will support as from this year is HackYourFuture.

We want to thank Flow Traders for its generous support to the HackYourFuture community. With your support we are able to help at least 120 talented people with a refugee background into high-quality and sustainable jobs.

By doing so, you are contributing to a win-win: we reduce unemployment and underemployment among refugees, bring down costs related to integration and immigration whilst helping the tech sector find talented IT professionals.

Some do this by contributing to education and self-development (@stichtingleergeldamsterdam @fundacionpescadordeletras HackYourFuture), others by providing psychological support and physical safety (@warchildholland @freeagirl ) or by helping out with becoming more independent ánd by boosting confidence (@jong.ondernemen @100weeks.nl ). Finally there are foundations like @stichtingjarigejob , @armoedefonds and @jeugdfondssportamsterdam who enable children to participate in society.

We are a small organisation, in Amsterdam formed by 8 volunteers working hand in hand with two Romanian NGOs: Asociatia Christiana and Copii de Cristal. for more than ten years FOR Children hasorganised thematic events, applied for grants and supported 38 children’s access to education through 38 devoted sponsors. We are proud to say that seven of the children we have sponsored are now university students continuing their stride towards a better future.

The sponsorship offered by Flow Traders will help us to provide tablets for 12 children wich are part of our Scholarship program and don't have the possibility to join the online courses. Definitely, this year was a hard one, due to COVID-19 many parents have lost their jobs and are unable to bring an income home. Part of the children which are participants in the scholarship program do not have access to internet or own tablets/laptopsto participate in the online courses and continue their education in optimal conditions.

Last Saturday was Sinterklaas his birthday celebration in the Netherlands, and about 15 years ago we, members of Lionsclub GIJS, decided to help Sinterklaas with a toy drive in our home-town of Amsterdam for kids that are depend on the Voedselbank. Why? Because even in a wealthy country like the Netherlands, out of every 12 children, 1 grows up in poverty. And due to the current COVID-19 crisis this number is rising dramatically.

15 years ago it was just us cleaning out our attics. As per today though, the Sintinzamelactie triggers an annual outburst of hundreds of people and dozens of (listed) companies across the Netherlands gathering toys and teddys for kids in need.

The people from Flow Traders have been a major help throughout the years for Sinterklaas to reach up to 5.000 children who would not have been reached otherwise.

A gift from Sinterklaas means the world for them, and therefore for us. Nothing beats the smile on a kid's face when munching on a pepernoot while unwrapping a gift from Sinterklaas. This keeps us going, and we're extremely happy that the Flow Traders Foundation is riding along!

The donation from the Flow Traders Foundation to Water4Kasese project will have a profound impact on the community by significantly improving water and sanitation conditions, especially for the vulnerable, thereby bringing dignity and increased prosperity. 
This gesture will improve their health and well-being, the productivity of women and will increase the enrollment of children in schools, since they are mostly responsible for providing water in the household.
Specifically, the contribution will tackle these aspects of the project:
-       Rehabilitation of existing pipelines.
-       Reinstallation of the reservoir system.
-       Development and protection of current water source from pollution.
-       Training of locals on project sustainability.

Thanks to the large donation from the Flow Traders Foundation, we (the charity 'Samen Lachen') together with the food bank in Amsterdam can put a smile on the faces of less fortunate children. Sadly there are a lot of children who don't have the opportunity to do something 'extra' due to their financial situation at home. Therefore, now and then we take them to a world of fun!

The organization, Samen Lachen, organizes monthly activities for children from 4 to 12 years old, who are connected to the food bank. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 situation does not allow us to organize activities at this time. Once the COVID-19 situation improves, we will use the first half of the donation to organize fun activities at the Zoo, the Efteling, and the theatre etc.

The other half of the donation will be used as the starting point for our Christmas surprise. We want to give Christmas presents to the 2250 children connected to the food bank, ranging from 0 to 18 years old. With the donation from the Flow Traders Foundation, we are already able to buy a Christmas present for the first 500 children!!

The Flow Traders Foundation made it possible for Samen Lachen to put a smile on the faces of all these children. Thank you!

UNHCR, The UN Refugee Agency, likes to thank Flow Traders Foundation and Flow Traders’ employees
for their generous contribution and solidarity with the thousands of refugee women, children and men
affected by the fire on Lesbos, Greece.

Early September 2020, a series of fires devastated the Moria refugee settlement on Lesbos, forcing 12,000 men, women and children out and onto the streets. UNHCR has been on the ground from the beginning, to provide lifesaving support to thousands of vulnerable families, pregnant women, children, elderly and men. The refugees have been relocated to the temporary emergency site at Kara Tepe, Lesbos.

The refugees who are now at the emergency site, are people that were once forced to flee their homes to escape war, violence and persecution in Afghanistan, Syria, Congo, Cameroon and many other countries. These people have already been through so much, leaving their homes behind seeking for safety in Greece. But, in addition to the dire conditions most people are living in on the Greek islands and the threat Covid-19 poses to already vulnerable people, the terrible fire in Moria has now left thousands of people homeless once again and their scarce possessions lost.

Flow Traders Foundation’s generous contribution of € 30,000, allows UNHCR to give refugees access to essential care and support. The donation helps UNHCR provide 10,000 blankets and plastic tarpaulins to protect people against wind and rain. It also enables the provision of core relief items like water, basic packaged food and jerry cans for 2,500 refugees. Additionally, it helps UNHCR provide personal hygiene items like soap, to protect 2,500 refugees from COVID-19. This support makes an unimaginable difference in the lives of vulnerable refugees, offering safety, comfort and dignity.

Flow Traders Foundation enables UNHCR to continue and expand their life-saving work to the most vulnerable.
