Alien is a fluorescent green glass on a polished aluminum body, producing an extraterrestrial Vibe. The sculptural table lamp is composed of mouth-blown UV-reactive glass whose specifically conceptualized dynamic light creates its striking light experience. Alien is limited to 200 pieces and each glass is unique.

Alien transforms a 15-million-year-old event into a contemporary product experience. The lamp’s sculptural glass is based of high-resolution 3D scans of an actual moldavite tektite, remnants of a meteorite impact in what is now southern Germany. This relic of extraterrestrial energy forms the core of Alien – a vitreous light body both eerily organic and precisely crafted.

About the Artist
Yngve Holen, born 1982, is a Norwegian-German sculptor known for his work exploring the material intersections of humans, objects, technology, and consumer culture.
