I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Philipp Jung @live.forever.jung one half of M.A.N.D.Y. @m_a_n_d_y__official alongside Patrick Bodmer (on the right in the pic)
I had hosted them, via @phunkpr / @ephde_sub / @olivierpilz at Le Paris Paris @leparisparis, the club where I was in charge of artistic direction between 2005 and 2008. I loved their sound at this time and even before, i was so happy to get them, great guys and djs, and with Philipp the contact was fast and friendly, easy man he was. He spoke excellent French, a language he had picked up during his years at a Swiss hotel school younger.
He was charming, elegant, funny. We met again several times after that, sharing long nights together, between Paris and Berlin. I really liked him.
When they came to play at the club circa 2007 (pic taken this night at the club), accommodation and travel costs had gone beyond my maximum budget. They quickly understood they probably wouldn’t get paid. Then, at the end of the party, I managed to free up €500 in cash, which I handed to Philipp. He refused it on principle — true gentleman he was.
My thoughts are with his family and loved ones
