At the 61st International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia, Yto Barrada (@ytobarrada) presents a series of textiles, sculptures, films, and objects throughout the French Pavilion's newly refurbished rooms in “Comme Saturne.”
-
Textiles from the Mothership—her experimental garden in Tangiers—explore global histories of trade, labor, and industry; “Comme Saturne” highlights how these processes connect to hidden knowledge, especially from artisans and workers.
-
For these works, Barrada has developed a system based on natural dyes, wool, and environmental factors, making color something unstable, living, and dependent on context. Natural light will act as measure of time, gradually changing and fading the materials over the course of the exhibition, which will evolve as it is experienced.
-

For “In Minor Keys,” the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, Torkwase Dyson (@torkwasedyson) created a large-scale multimedia installation incorporating atmospheric soundscapes and glass made on the Venetian island of Murano.
-
Installed in the Arsenale, the work expands upon Dyson’s visionary exploration of transhistorical liberation in world-building, wherein geometry is a language of sensoria and space itself is material of possibility.
-
Through a quiet yet bold shifting of compositions and luminous material, she asserts the beauty of interdependence within the expanding spatial logics of contemporary architecture and global infrastructure.

Coming soon to #Venice, an exhibition of work by #LeeUfan—organized by Dia Art Foundation (@diaartfoundation) at SMAC Venice (@smac_venice)—presents a sweeping survey of over six decades of creation.
The exhibition convenes historic works alongside new paintings and monumental installations by the artist, who will celebrate his 90th birthday this year, highlighting Lee’s deep commitment to gestures of restraint, resonant silences, and measured encounters between matter and void.

Kohei Nawa's (@nawa_kohei) exhibition "Photon Camp" continues at #PaceLosAngeles through June 6.
-
The artist has created a cohesive environment of sculptures from his PixCell and Prism series for his first solo show in Los Angeles, foregrounding his expansive investigations of perceptual and sensory phenomena.
-
In a new interview with The Japan Times, Nawa speaks about the ideas underpinning his exhibition: "A camp is something that only exists somewhere for a short time, and [Susan] Sontag writes about how the moment we try to interpret something, its meaning escapes somewhere else. I was interested in this inability to capture what’s there.”
