Simon and I back to school shopping with Annabelle (at Abercrombie kids).
This was our awkward exchange.

Cashier to Annabelle: What grade are you going to be in this year? 3rd grade? 4th grade?
Annabelle:Dead silent *turns beat read*
Me: She starts tenth grade. She’ll be 16 next month.
Cashier: Shocked into silence. Then comments Annabelle on her “extremely young genes” and how she will look young forever.

As we are walking out of the store Annabelle turns angrily at the both of us as we are failing to hold back our laughter and says, “don’t you dare say a word!!!!”

For those of you who know Simon Abraszek and I well, our 2023 was complete crap. We faced some really hard situations and had to make even harder decisions. One of those being to postpone our wedding to an unknown (potentially far off) future date. Over the years we have learned to keep the past in the past and give eachother (and life) what we call “redo’s”. Simon took advantage of our redo philosophy last night and proposed in the most epic and surprising way possible. Here’s to continuing to move forward and recognizing that life isn’t always perfect.
