What an extraordinary day of service in Austin! 🧡
During SXSW, volunteers from across our city came together to serve with joy, compassion, and unity—partnering with Convoy of Hope, Austin Disaster Relief Network, Serve Source, Thrivent, and so many others.
This is what it looks like when the community shows up: hands ready to serve, hearts full of hope, and lives touched through practical help and kindness. We are deeply grateful for every volunteer who gave their time and every partner who made this day possible.

Some of the great moments at #DRRN2026 in Birmingham last week!Next year is 10th annual!Who’s in??
What an incredible ONE DAY with @serve_6.8 in Loveland, Colorado.
This amazing partner organization has been connected with @servesource since the very beginning in 2017, and it’s powerful to see how God continues to grow these relationships.
Our 2nd ONE DAY event focused on the WHY behind Serve Source — building trusted relationships so churches and organizations are ready to respond when crisis hits.
When relationships exist before the disaster, response becomes faster, stronger, and more unified.

So grateful Sweeton could join us this year at #DRRN 🙌 (by video)
What an incredible story of God’s faithfulness.
Sweeton serves as a leader at our @celebrationmoz campus in Chonguene and has now been on staff with @servesource for over a year!
Through @txcelebration and the heart of Pastors Joe & Lori Champion, Derick, April, and their family built a strong relationship with Sweeton over the years — walking with him through university and supporting him as he earned his degree.
In the summer of 2025, during a trip to Mozambique, Derick and Pastor Mel Stauber sensed the opportunity. After a few days of prayer, Sweeton was hired.
Today, he is one of three Serve Source team members serving our partner churches and organizations across the nation and around the world.
God is building something powerful through relationship.

This week, a few of our team members gathered in Birmingham for the Disaster Response Relational Network conference, hosted by @servesource. We joined a powerful group of disaster response ministries, all united by a shared mission to serve people in their hardest moments. It was a meaningful time of learning from one another, strengthening relationships, and leaning into each organization’s unique strengths so that together, we can bring help and hope where it’s needed most! 💙
We’re grateful for the encouragement, wisdom, and care that was poured into our team. We leave filled up, strengthened, and ready to step forward whenever the next disaster strikes. 💪

We are so grateful for our time this week at the Disaster Response Relational Network (DRRN) gathering held in Birmingham, Alabama.
What started a few years ago as a connection point has truly become family. Each year we are reminded that disaster response is not just about strategy or structure;
it’s about relationships. It’s about churches, ministries, and response teams coming together around a table with one heart: to serve well and shine Christ in the darkest moments.
We were honored to set up a table and connect with so many partners who share the same calling. Conversations were rich, lessons were shared, and new bridges were built for future response efforts. Pastor Stephen also had the opportunity to share from his perspective as both a pastor and nonprofit leader who has walked through disaster firsthand and we are thankful for spaces where those stories can strengthen others.
We truly are stronger together. When relationships are healthy and communication is open, Kingdom impact multiplies.
Grateful for this network. Grateful for each partner. Grateful that we don’t have to do this work alone.
