But what is Locomotion?

Locomotion is about the dancers, dancing & the dancefloor. Dance music for the people by DJ’s who know the art of DJing and can tell a story with music.

DJ Tracksuit & soFa met on the streets in Berlin 5 years ago and have been sharing music ever since. 2 years ago they played together for the first (and only) time at Space Safari in Belgium. It was a magical journey through the world of dance music and we’ve been waiting for a moment to make that synergy shine again. Their music will shine bright on Doka’s sound system!

It's been half a year now that I'm curating playlists on ROVR along with many other great folks. The lineup is full of passionate music lovers, it's all about selections of tunes which are hardly put forward elsewhere. Since this has been my mission for almost 3 decades I am super happy to have joined this excellent roster. As usual I try to showcase the lesser known, the underrated and the outsiders of many genres old and new. 

If you're part of those who have no time to search for music, here is another great alternative to the shitheads called spotify. It's free and full tracklists and archives are available!

soFa has been working on outstanding reissues with cult labels such as Finders Keepers and Sub Rosa and in 2017 he launched his highly acclaimed series of “Elsewhere” compilations on labels such as Music For Dreams, ICI, Kalahari Oyster Cult, Emotional Response, Rocket Recordings, Strangelove Music and Bongo Joe.

In the last years his focus moved over to music production which saw the birth of projects such as Mameen 3, CCCVVV, Nyati Mayi & The Astral Synth Transmitters, Psychedelic Digestion Therapy, Sexo Y Fantasia & more to come. He also started producing for singers left and right and collaborates with innovating labels such as Bongo Joe, Music From Memory/Second Circle, Strangelove Music, Bureau-B, Macadam Mambo, Planet Trip, Emotional Response, Fauve and others. He collaborated with legendary pioneers in their respective fields such as Okay Temiz & Rodion GA.

@leyatouch & @sofa_elsewhere aka Dream Baby Dream combine their left-of-centre musical perspectives on an otherworldly new self-titled album that out now on @hellyeahrecordings The duo's beguiling mix of occult synths and treated vocals ride dubbed-out mid-tempo rhythms on a retro-futurist record that blends cold wave, cosmic disco, dub and trance.

Dream Baby Dream describes themselves as "two children who refused to grow up" and now they offer a glimpse into their very own fantastic land of dreams. This journey into diverse flavours spontaneously started after a cosy dinner and after just three sessions resulted in the album presented here. Playful yet sometimes gloomy, this music echoes life, both imaginary and real - the highs, the lows, the dark moments and the joy, trance-inducted love zones, daydreams and everything in between. It is a coherent hole but one filled with surprising turns, moments of deja vu and plenty of outsider dance floor delights.

Leya Touch is a rising voice and live act on the Brussels alternative scene. Together with soFa, a veteran DJ and producer who released on many forward-thinking labels worldwide, they provide signature vocals and synths that challenge typical genre categorisations.

This is an exultant album of new musical rituals, tiny soundscapes, dehumanised words and combinations of the past, present and future that never fail to excite and intrigue.

It's another collaboration with soFa after Mameen 3 and Nyati Mayi & The astral Synth Transmitters, keeping a strong bound with the Belgian wizard. This volume is an ode to summer and groove ! It is a real digger’s paradise of tropical gems, from Trinidad to Brazil, Poland, Dominica, and beyond. A mix of outernational, tropical-wave, Calypso, multi-rhythmic percussive beats, lo-fi disco jams, and other such styles that lie somewhere in that magical in-between zone.

soFa Elsewhere, is renowned for his borderless approach to curation. Adapting his unconventional and radical approach to DJing to his acclaimed compilation series, soFa’s goal has always been to expand horizons, highlight scenes, and tell stories. And herein lies the beauty behind the latest edition in the Elsewhere series. Behind every great record, is an even bigger story, and Elsewhere CC, has plenty of them...
