Introducing our newest board member (and our former student!) Bindi Mutiara 💫

"Story Factory may be my second home, but it was the first place I ever belonged. I grew up here, and now, cultivating the same care and nurturing that were afforded to me for future storytellers is one of my greatest honours. This place instilled in me the freedom to trust my voice, expanding my sense of self – a collective experience that continues in each student's story," Bindi said.

Bindi is a radio broadcaster, DJ, writer, and performer working on Gadigal Country. Her practice is grounded in a lifelong relationship with storytelling, first nurtured in Story Factory's inaugural Year of the Novella Program in 2016. We are incredibly excited to welcome Bindi back as a board member!

Adinda (@bindi.mt) is a DJ, writer, dancer and radio broadcaster whose practice is rooted in movement and storytelling. She blends warped global club with ambient textures, trip-hop, spoken word and introspective sound design. Her sets move fluidly between percussive intensity and dreamlike terrain, shaped by the same embodied poetry that informs her dance and writing – a spacious, ever-evolving practice led by feeling.

@bindi.mt's elite taste and effusive, effervescent personality have already been beaming thru @fbiradio for a minute, but tonight she's stepping up in her final form as Adinda, with a cute and cunty mix to set us off 🫧💗⭐️

Much like @celinunezx last week, Adinda is never shy about being the main character in the club, but has a deep relationship with dance beyond the dancefloor. Learning from @fetu.taku.angelz at @movequeer_ this year has brought her into her own as a performer and connected her more intimately with the queer dance community blossoming locally. We like to say if you can dance you can DJ, and Adinda can make a room screeeaaam when she moves, so it's no surprise her mixes are so wild.

When she does step up to the decks, Adinda loves to play fast and hard, but it's never about ketamine-fuelled techno. She's pulling ballroom, Latincore and shimmering, experimental pop music together in her mix tonight, and that's a slow day for her. From FKA Twigs to Japanese MC Yuki Chiba, Adinda's loaded up some dangerous weapons on her USB. It's a special set from a young master selector and we can't wait for you to hear it.

Tonight is also our final show of 2024!! A bunch of friends will be packing the studio alongside @sandrolami and Adinda - chaotic energy and (at least) a b5b guaranteed. Tune in to fbi.radio from 10pm!! 💥🏁
