A labor of love. A few years ago I found myself on the old part of Dubai for a sunrise shoot, and I stumbled upon a man leading a yoga class on the creek.

That story stayed with me…until I put out a feeler to see who would be interested in helping me produce and tell this story. That’s where I had the privilege of working with @zubin__mistry and @belchonog. We joined forces to tell an untold story of Dubai, a part of Dubai that not many know about. So here’s the result, we hope you enjoy it, and feel free to drop in for a free yoga class any day at 5:30 am. Tell em Sal sent you.

Part 9 of building my sound studio in the UAE 🇦🇪 – the finishing touches!

From an empty shell to a fully equipped creative hub. The furniture is in, the little details are done, and the studio is finally ready.

This has been such a journey, and I can’t thank you all enough for tuning in and following along through every step. From floating floors and soundproofing, to speakers and finishing touches.

The studio officially opens tomorrow (October 1st), and I can’t wait to welcome you in. See you soon! 🙌

The moment I’ve been waiting for… finally setting up the monitors. I went with the @genelec_oy 8340’s and 7370 sub. Absolutely amazing set of speakers.

First test track? Linkin Park, of course!!

Part 7 of building my sound studio in the UAE 🇦🇪 – sound clouds & tough choices!

Today it’s all about installing the sound cloud panels above the mix position. These panels tame reflections from the ceiling, giving the room a tighter and more accurate sound.
But… not every plan goes smoothly. My skyline diffuser turned out way too heavy, so it’s time to cut it down and rethink… 😅

Step by step, the space is getting closer to being a professional recording & mixing studio.
