I found some collages I made in high school 🤯
My art teacher, Mr. Blackman, was a badass.
He was the head football coach with a hulking presence and also a very gentle, gifted artist.
Every week there was a different medium to focus on and a specific assignment for the class to follow but he still let me do my own thing, cut loose and create whatever it was that I had in my head. Which, at the time, seemed to be influenced by listening to a lot of Dead Kennedys and Marilyn Manson (funny enough it was the music teacher that reported me to the police because he thought I was on drugs).
He could have forced me to stick to the curriculum but instead he helped fuel my passion and interests, teaching me how to make homemade silkscreens so I could print t-shirts for my band, airbrush my sister’s motorcycle helmet with an Evel Knievel design and use up all the printer ink making massive collages.
I’m still grateful to have had someone so supportive of going off the rails into unknown territory at such a young, formative age.
Be like Mr. Blackman. Be a badass. ❤️🔥

Single art and design for new @maroon5 single “Heroine”
1-2. The final product. After a handful of versions that didn’t hit, my direction became a “Kill Bill color scheme”, which immediately got me thinking about Uma’s “Bride” character and the Sergio Leone spaghetti western close-ups of her eyes.
3-4. Inspired by @ashworthchris work with dry-transfer Letraset sheets within his own artwork and for Raygun Magazine. Also a reason to do something physical with my hands and not on the computer. This is probably my favorite one but also ultimately might feel more like it should be for a song called “Heroin” than “Heroine”.
5-7. Something that looked better in my head than it did on paper and also another reason to create something I could hold and not stare at a screen. Medium - old record sleeve and Wylder’s paint supplies.
8-9. I’m always digging through old film I’ve shot searching for ways to give old photos new life. I wanted something that felt euphoric, like love, or dreamy.. but again, ultimately wanted to avoid any druggy metaphors.
10-11. A couple of alternates that include the band’s name and a couple more Kill Bill colors.

2025 💖 It only took me a month to find the energy to pummel past the ever-looming daily doom and dread we are currently living in and look back on all the beauty that 2025 had to offer.
If you were to ask me if 2025 was a wonderful year I’m honestly not sure if I would immediately have said that it was - Looking back on it now it’s a little embarrassing how wrong I’d be. Seeing the overwhelming abundance of love, joy and happiness, it’s causing me to question if I spend my time focusing on the right reality - the one directly in front of me - the one that I actually live inside of.
For 2026, here’s to zooming IN. Staying present. Limiting access. Living in the moment. Riding the sparks of joy. Also probably turning off news notifications and tuning in when I decide.
Sure there are always bad days & sad days among the best days & better days, but the goal will be to watch the s*** float away down the river - wave “bye-bye” and coast off on a belly full of warm 🤙✨✌️Cook more, listen to tapes and CDs, read books, buy magazines, eat your cereal with a fork and do your homework in the dark.

Anonstories oferuje doskonałe rozwiązanie do ukrywania swojej tożsamości.
