EΛΑΙΩΝΑΣ - ELEONAS by @inesdifolcojemni @Chamlavant and @winniemorielly
30/04 - 10/06
ELEONAS brings together the works of Inès Di Folco Jemni, Cham Lavant and Winnie Mo Rielly in an exhibition born from a physical place and an affective territory: a vast flea market on the outskirts of Athens, at the edge of the city, of memory and of time. Visited each week by a dense crowd of families, traders, tourists and everyday treasures, the Eleonas market has been run for several generations of Athens’ Romani community. It is an organic, living space, aggregating objects from Europe and the Mediterranean like a continuous wave.
The exhibition ELEONAS will travel between two sister cities that share a political, social and symbolic geography: Athens and Marseille. Two Mediterranean ports, crossed by ancient and contemporary human circulations, two border-cities marked by the tensions of tourism, post-colonialism and popular culture.
ELEONAS will take place in both contexts, first at Alkinois and then at Sissi Club @sissi.club (Nov - Jan) in Marseille. It thus carries a living memory between the two shores, linking two independent venues that each in their own way defend an art rooted in the shifting realities of their territory.

The 3rd and last small film artist Cham Lavant made for us looks so much like her that we put her name in the title. Le Ravissement de Cham Lavant is a riff on the title of one of Marguerite Duras’ most famous books, Le Ravissement de Lol V. Stein. I love how Cham wears my jewelry and I love working with her. Over the years there was a performance, several shoots, and now these, how should we call them: Duras fan fictions? Whatever they are, I hope you enjoyed watching them as much as we enjoyed making them.
🎬 @chamlavant
🎥 @raphaelzyss
🎶 @kukershtein
Before she headed out to film herself wearing our most popular pieces, artist Cham Lavant came by the boutique to discuss references and ideas. One of the references she showed me was an image of Madonna lying on the counter of a bar. I told Cham, I can see you doing that. She said yes, then moved on to the next image. We talked about Trouville and Duras, then off Cham went in the wild. I wish you friends who lie down on bars and artists who put your work in theirs. And I wish you a creative life so that these two things become one. L’Auto is the second small film artist Cham Lavant made for us. Just like the first one, it’s a bedazzled homage to Marguerite Duras, who made a film called Le Camion and never called a car a voiture - it was always, in her extraordinary voice, an auto.

🎶 @kukershtein
I asked artist Cham Lavant to make a few small films for us wearing our most popular pieces and the next thing I know, she was on the train to Trouville, filming. Our brief was short “just film yourself” and Cham knows what I like: Marguerite Duras, old things, some level of madness. She made three films, the first of which is this one. The original Marguerite Duras book title is La Pute de la Côte Normande (The Whore of The Normandy Coast) and we searched hard for a word as strong as pute, but in vain. So we chose fille. It blurs it a little, and in the end, I love it too.

Anonstories oferuje doskonałe rozwiązanie do ukrywania swojej tożsamości.
