When sourcing for “The Bear,” Courtney and I shop from over 250 small businesses and indie brands. The list is so long, but we wanted to highlight a few of the local Chicago shops we most frequented this year while shopping for Season 4! These are the people who go above and beyond to help us secure the gems you see on the show. They open their doors to us before and after hours and keep us hydrated and caffeinated while we dig! They show up to their shops even in arctic temperatures and snowstorms.

We work under tight deadlines and turnarounds, and they make it possible for us by going the extra mile. They let us pick through their special bins of vintage items that haven’t hit the sales floor yet; they let us into their backrooms, basements, warehouses, and storage units. No stone is left unturned. They help us source additional sizes and multiples!

Though not in Chicago, I had to include @fineanddandyarchives . He has helped us source countless pieces over the years via FaceTime, then he runs to FedEx to overnight the goods from NYC to Chicago.

Also, thank you for letting us pee in your employee bathrooms. xoxo

#TheBear is an American television series created by Christopher Storer for FX on Hulu starring Jeremy Allen White as Carmy Berzatto and a supporting cast that includes Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Ayo Edebiri.

In my latest video, I had an awesome chat with the show's Emmy & CDC Nominated Costume Designer @cwheels (We Grown Now (2023)) about her work on the show over 4 seasons. Courtney shares with me lots of behind-the-scenes stories about the show and talks about her process as the series costume designer.

Check it out, the link is in my profile. ⬆️

Thank you to Marilyn at @storylinepr for this opportunity.

@thebearfx costume designer Courtney Wheeler@cwheels Episode 🖤🎬 With host/producer @rmburnett

The Best Tools In The Bear’s Kitchen Are Courtney Wheeler’s Costumes!

The award-winning FX series, “The Bear” now has three full seasons available on Hulu and Disney+. I sat down with the show’s costume designer, Courtney Wheeler, to talk about her work, which has been nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Contemporary Costumes For A Series, for the sixth episode of the second season, “Fishes.”

“Every second counts.” This phrase repeats throughout the second season of FX’s The Bear, often on literal signs, so that we the audience experience reading the words in the same way that the characters do. At the start the phrase feels like a reminder, it evolves throughout the season into a mantra and by the end of the season it has also become a form of grace. Because the idea that every moment matters means that any moment could be the one where what you chose to do changes everything for the better.

When the second season opens it is February in Chicago, winter is in full force and the city is gray as the sky. Buildings downtown rise like towers into the sky, impossibly high, and anyone who has lived there probably cannot help themselves from remembering the way icy winds cut through the spaces between skyscrapers, cutting through winter gear when you turn down a block perpendicular to the one you came from. “There are specific colors,” costume designer Courtney Wheeler explained to me,” that series creator “Christopher Storer is really attracted to. And I do think within the show, and how they film, that really does come out. So you see it in the aprons, you see it in a sweater or something, or the coverall that Sugar is wearing. And you’ll see it kind of pop up in other people’s palettes from time to time.”

Tune into new episode!

Anonstories oferuje doskonałe rozwiązanie do ukrywania swojej tożsamości.
