COMPETITION DESIGN OBJECT ANNOUNCEMENT

DESIGN
TREO (meaning to hang/suspend in Vietnamese) is a collection of sculptural hooks shaped after the vòng ngọc jade bangle—a symbol of protection, heritage, and strength.
Created for the 3 Weeks of Design 2025 competition, TREO is a design by Almagame Studio, a satellite design practice founded in 2024 by Emmie Massias and Marine Col.
Crafted from ash, aventurine, marble, and onyx, each hook invites gestures of care in daily rituals, bringing jewelry and architecture together in modular compositions.

ARTIST
Emmie Mai Linh Massias (1997) is a French and Vietnamese visual researcher, artist and designer.
Through an exploration of form and material narratives, her practice investigates the entanglements between the body, territory and systems of extraction. By amplifying her own cultural identity, Emmie’s work seeks to raise questions of heritage across objects and participatory processes, facilitating knowledge sharing and storytelling.
Emmie’s practice has spanned accross Ho Chi Minh City, Paris, London, Eindhoven and Guadalajara. In 2024, she received the Talent Development Grant Scheme by StimuleringsFonds in the Netherlands, and co-founded Amalgame Studio with Marine Col.

The selected participants of 3 Weeks of Design 2026 were given a rare opportunity to visit Tân Thành Furniture Factory and 1st Maker Factory.
This experience offered an in-depth look into the craftsmanship and production processes behind each piece—revealing how ideas are translated into material, and how design takes shape through precision, technique, and collaboration.
We extend our sincere thanks to Tân Thành Furniture and 1st Maker for opening their doors, generously sharing their expertise, and supporting the development of emerging designers.

ARTWORK
This series of golden photographs draws inspiration from colonial-era imagery that shaped lasting representations and fantasies surrounding the female body.
Flora stages herself within deliberately constructed settings, recalling late 19th- and early 20th-century photographic studios. The artificiality is fully visible: so-called “exotic” objects mixing cultures, unexpected props, plastic elements. These details reveal how such images were fabricated, staged, and never neutral.
The figures depicted are not portraits but roles. They question how history and visual narratives have transformed individuals into symbols — and, at times, into objects.
Gold becomes a gesture of repair. Through a process she has developed, Flora restores presence and strength to these bodies while reflecting on photography as a tool of memory: powerful, yet unable to fully capture the complexity of reality.
Created in large formats and produced in very limited editions, these works speak to collectors seeking a strong image with depth — a piece that carries meaning, history, and a distinctly contemporary voice.

Anonstories oferuje doskonałe rozwiązanie do ukrywania swojej tożsamości.
