An emotional moment from @jackwright (The Swallow, One Stupid Thing) in conversation with our creative director @andrewmatarazzo

N92: Is there something you once struggled to talk about openly that you now see as an important part of your story? Why was it hard then and what’s changed that you can express it now?
JW: (part 1) In October 2021, I decided I wanted to end my life. I was on a trip with my family and best friend. I was in a very dark place for awhile and felt extremely helpless no matter how supportive my loved ones were. I climbed to the top of a building. It was late so no one was on the streets. My toes were on the ledge and right before falling back, a restaurant worker that was closing ran outside and asked for help. My best friend that I was with found me at the top and yelled, “please Jack, I love you and I’m here for you.” For the longest time, I felt like nothing anyone could say would help but when he said those words I broke down. He called the ambulance and grabbed other local restaurant employees. I could remember my best friend and a bunch of strangers saying they were here to listen and that there’s always another way while I was standing on the ledge. My parents got the call and rushed to me. My dad got to the roof and he and the paramedics finally convinced me to get down. I could never describe the guilt and shame I felt knowing I almost put my family and friends and the strangers that happened to be there that night through that.

Anonstories oferuje doskonałe rozwiązanie do ukrywania swojej tożsamości.
