Genau darum geht es in unserem nächsten Projekt: um Perspektiven, um Bilder, um Geschichten hinter dem Offensichtlichen. Wie sehen wir die Welt? Und was passiert, wenn wir beginnen, die Sichtweisen anderer wirklich wahrzunehmen?

Schon bald erzählen wir mehr – und starten einen Open Call für alle, die Lust haben, ihre eigene Perspektive sichtbar zu machen.

Bleib dran. Es wird persönlich, überraschend und gemeinschaftlich.

🚨 #OPENCALL: This Memorial Day, we’re thinking about the many ways “America” is constructed, performed, inherited, resisted, and remembered.

Apparently in America invites photographers worldwide to critically engage with the idea of American-ness today through personal, political, and cultural perspectives.

Deadline: July 4, 2026

One selected artist will receive a $500 award 💸 and a feature on the platform, alongside up to three honorable mentions.

Initiated by Der Greif’s queer Program Curator, Francesca Hummler (@fransangle), this open call reflects our continued commitment to creating space for queer artists and conversations within contemporary photography. We welcome work engaging with self-representation, chosen family, visibility, and the relationship between public and private space.

Selected artists will be featured in an online exhibition on Der Greif’s homepage and invited to join small-group Face-to-Face critique sessions.
