Alfred! A 16-page broadsheet newspaper for my grandfather’s 100th birthday. It tells the story of his life in a breezy 30,000 words. The text is synthesized from 18+ hours of interviews with Al conducted by his friends and family from 2016 to 2024. I transcribed the interviews, edited them together, designed the paper and made some maps.
My entire family helped in one way or another, but I had a lot of help from @goldfished, who scanned photos, helped with the photo editing, and took new frames for the project. The cover photograph is by @andrewsoutham, who also contributed interview transcripts and a huge number of photographs he took of Al over the years.
The display face is Respira by @sharp_type. Printed in New York City by @lincoprinting.

From here, space, water, sky, and morsels of the world that was here before it all began — these dominate. The city, magnificent still, inevitable, but less overpowering, waits for one to return, renewed.

Anonstories oferuje doskonałe rozwiązanie do ukrywania swojej tożsamości.
