We're talking hovercrafts buzzing over dark marshes as Zartan the bad guy from GI Joe changes faces and plays cards with the guy who swings the cinder block on the axe handle. Cinders and ashes, axes and unbelievers. 'Second Device' is the second real long-form proving ground for these moves, the second ash pit. Sladazj is the prince of the pit.
