Transformer continues its exhibition partnership with the LINE DC @thelinehotel to present a compelling new body of work bringing together two interconnected photographic series, "Icons and Flow." @jac_re_dc @rasphotocontact
"Icons," developed through a collaboration between creative director John Coplen and photographer Rachel A Sale, reimagines culturally iconic images through the reversal of gender - not as imitation, but as disruption. In parallel, "Flow," created by Rachel A Sale, centers on women who embody resilience not as an abstract ideal, but as a daily, lived practice.
Together, Icons & Flow expands the conversation around the body: not as something to be redefined or disrupted, but as a site of endurance, awareness, and lived truth.

Whether you stay in the city or head out to this beach this Memorial Day weekend, visit Transformer's two exhibitions by DC based artist Noël Kassewitz!@noelkassewitzart
"What Remains" presented at Transformer in DC and "Lost in the Flood" at Siren Arts in Asbury Park, NJ feature Kassewitz’s "A(c)qua Alta" series with the paintings tethered to live NOAA tidal data, rising and falling in real time with nearby water levels.
Drawing upon her ocean-based upbringing and background in art conservation, Noël Kassewitz creates works that feel at once like wistful shrines and research laboratories, adapting materials into resilient forms for uncertain futures. Working across painting, sculpture, installation, and performance, she erodes the boundaries between disciplines to examine both the endurance and fragility of cultural memory in the face of rising environmental, social, and political pressures.
"Like the ebb and flow of tides, the rise and fall of civilization underlies What Remains, which lands in DC on the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. For the occasion, Kassewitz has orchestrated a provocative series of mixed media allegories. At once steeped in personal memory and collective mythology, the imagery blends classical fragments with everyday items to disturbing effect." - Sarah Tanguy, DC Arts Writer @sarahtanguyart
GALLERY HOURS:
"What Remains" - Transformer, 1404 P St NW DC
Weds - Sat, 12 - 6 PM through July 4, 2026

Thank you to all of those who celebrated the opening of “What Remains,” a multi-media exhibition by DC based artist Noël Kassewitz last weekend! Now open during gallery hours today through June 20. Don’t miss out! @noelkassewitzart
GALLERY HOURS:
Weds - Sat, 12pm - 6pm
“What Remains” is the second presentation of a two-part exhibition by DC based artist Noël Kassewitz. Beginning with “Lost in the Flood” at Transformer’s Siren Arts program space in Asbury Park, NJ, the first exhibition anchored Kassewitz’s kinetic “A(c)qua Alta” series to the tide changes of the Jersey Shore and the history of Asbury Park. With her exhibition “What Remains” at Transformer, Kassewitz continues tracking the ebb and flow of tidal forces, with a focus on DMV area terrain shifts, from coastal memory to national identity.

Join us for the closing reception of "A Distinct Terroir," an exhibition in partnership with the Friendship Heights Alliance showcasing a bounty of artists and creative styles from the DC area through the lens of our FlatFile collection. @friendshipheightsalliance
CLOSING RECEPTION:
📆 Wednesday, May 20
🕐️ 5PM - 7PM
📍Pavillion Pop-Up at The Heights Lobby
‘Terroir’ refers to the set of factors that influence the unique character growth of a subject, including all the environmental factors that morph its characteristics and quality. It’s a holistic concept that considers not just the environment and climate, but also the topography, biodiversity, and human impact on a region. The DMV’s terroir, from its political importance to its Mid-Atlantic and Appalachian landscape, to its rich immigrant community, inspires each artist in a different way, making our local artists’ work distinctly topical.
Throughout the run of the A Distinct Terroir, Transformer has presented artist-led community programming, engaging audiences with Wednesday evening artist conversations, and through hands-on, interactive workshops presented monthly on Saturdays. These will included workshops on printmaking, mixed-media collage, and more that engaged audiences of all ages in the creation of their own artworks.

Anonstories oferuje doskonałe rozwiązanie do ukrywania swojej tożsamości.
