DP Vikash Nowlakha ISC (@vik_now) brings us into the intense world of “Dhurandhar,” director Aditya Dhar's (@adityadharfilms) spy action thriller starring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R. Madhavan. Released theatrically on December 5, 2025, the film surpassed the ₹1,000 crore worldwide box-office mark just 21 days later, becoming one of the highest-grossing Hindi films globally.
Vikash Nowlakha, known for his work on “Laapataa Ladies” (2023), “Brahmastra Part One: Shiva” (2022), and “Bloody Brothers” (2021), relied on the ALEXA 35 to capture the film's gritty, documentary-style aesthetic. He says:
“I don't like to think about cameras and that's why I choose the ALEXA 35. With ‘Dhurandhar’ we tried to create a visual language that felt like a real live event unfolding. Often, the choice to make things feel out of control really meant relinquishing control. The dance with chaos is a battle I could only walk into because of my incredible crew and the ALEXA 35. It was important for scenes to not look choreographed, staged, or overly lit. The low-light sensitivity of the ALEXA 35 really helped our actors have the room and walk into its shadows. I love the camera for its weight distribution for handheld work; it's ergonomic, has sophisticated simplicity, and is an absolute dependable beast—as ARRI cameras have long been known for.”

I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to serve a vision where craft is in service to story. And for filmmakers out there, directors, producers, writers, actors, musicians, editors, who allow us cinematographers the trust to facilitate their vision and capture whats in their hearts.
A big thank you to my precious crew - you all know who you are - you’re family!
And heartfelt gratitude for all those who made it to the cinema (or netflix ;) and allowed this film to touch and move you !
Ne Me Quitte Pas :
Made this short film close to 20 yrs ago, for a clothing label in Madrid called Raasta. The brief was one word ‘nostalgia’. I dug into my own personal life for inspiration, and guided by the unwavering trust of my client and now good friend Kativa Parmar, attempted to make this film about lost love.
Many of my crew on this film have since passed, my focus puller Sanjay Kesari, my loader Jeetu Bhai and my oldest and dearest friend stylist Gary Wallang. I wanted to put this out there as a tribute to them and their spirits that I’ve been fortunate to witness. To celebrate that intangible essence, that the transience of all the beautiful spirits that pass us by, leave us with..

When I look at my work there’s always a tinge of embarrassment that accompanies it - perhaps it’s because one outgrows it in the very process of doing it - perhaps it truly is cringe worthy :)
I’ve never publicly shared this before but now it belongs to you - to feel or take or not - whatever you’d like from it ..

Anonstories oferuje doskonałe rozwiązanie do ukrywania swojej tożsamości.
