I carry a curse is out 🔮

a song about fear of rejection and the tempting thought of blaming the universe. it's also a bit of a reckoning with past ways - being unreflected in dating and eventually running out of options. all of this is packed into a tale of spirits, truthsayers and magic ✨🕸️

I had the pleasure of working with @estaslocolucas and @therealsleepercurly again, the rhythm section on the last Waverer EP, as well as producer extraordinaire @vojkohuterwho also supplied the lovely pedal steel twang. mastering was done by @dansuter_echochamber and the artwork photography by @joansker 🫶

die mittlerweile sechs(!)köpfige band vertont das kopfkino in feinfühlig arrangierten und eingängigen songs, die mal laut und rotzig, mal sanft und schummrig daherkommen. mit röhrenverstärkern und rhodes-piano lässt waverer von der romantischen analogen welt träumen, welche die band selbst nur noch in kindlichen erinnerungen erleben durfte.

auf der bühne ist es waverer endlich erlaubt , mit worten und stimmen zu spielen, sich sogar selbst zu widersprechen mit scharfer ironie bewaffnet, schiesst er sich immer wieder versehentlich selbst ins bein - so werden tiefe ängste ausgesprochen, hart erkämpfte meinungen fallen in sich zusammen.

die mittlerweile sechs(!)köpfige band vertont das kopfkino in feinfühlig arrangierten und eingängigen songs, die mal laut und rotzig, mal sanft und schummrig daherkommen. mit röhrenverstärkern und rhodes-piano lässt waverer von der romantischen analogen welt träumen, welche die band selbst nur noch in kindlichen erinnerungen erleben durfte.

Silent Neighbor damals wie heute erkunden seine Songs in ihren eigenwilligen Anverwandlungen von Jazz-, Pop-, Rock- und Countryklängen die Brüche in der Oberfläche der gepflegten Zwischenmenschlichkeit Vom tragischen Liebeslied an ein zerstörtes Plakat an der Zürcher Langstrasse bis hin zur Entdeckung, dass es ausserhalb des G-Dur-Akkords kein Leben geben kann, stürzt sich die Musik mit grosser Dringlichkeit in existenzielle Abgründe, ohne dabei ihren Sinn für den Humor in der Tragik zu verlieren.
