It was such a special project for me. I was away in Annecy without access to my tablet, which allowed me to bring on a range of different talents while my main challenge was to direct everyone so their styles work cohesively. Nerve racking during the process but fun to be hands free!! So satisfying to see the result and how perfect a team it was💖💖

You basically recycle the character animation but recontextualize it in a new environment. It’s such an effective and fun way to enrich the animation when turnaround is tight, and an interesting challenge in art direction to keep it cohesive throughout the video. Tho usually it takes a bit of pre-planning for it to make sense.

Occasionally I also bring back animation assets I made for fun into my commissions when short of ideas. The slide2 hand shot is a good example!! It’s very fun to see how the visual language/mood changes when the animation is almost literally the same.
