We heard impactful heartful stories from men around addiction, loss, struggles with mental health, barriers to opening up and the old stigma of being a "man's man" and the archaic stories of what a "man should be".

5 quick ways to get more from your business networking:

1) Be Early – If you’re one of the first people in the room, you get to talk to and make any guests and visitors new to the network feel welcome. Boom, you’re instantly more memorable).

Note to self: Stop saying Boom…

2) Connect Others – If you know two people who could benefit from meeting each other, don’t be shy about introducing them. You might not benefit directly from the results, but sometimes it’s worth it for the warm and fuzzies.

3) Give Before You Receive – Stop trying to “win” business. If you can help someone else’s business, whether that’s by putting work their way, making an introduction, or using their services, you’re infinitely more likely to get something in return. Spend more time on this and watch how many more people want to help you out.

4) Keep Attending – People like doing business with people they have a relationship with. If they only see you “every now and again” they’re less likely to remember you when the opportunity arises. If you’re going to commit…commit.

5) When someone says put your business card in this for the draw…do it – For months, I didn’t bother putting my business card in the draw at The @bnceluk . Last month I did, and Boom, Afternoon Tea for 2 at @stanleyhousehotel …and it was incredible. Huge thanks to Karen Tems and Angela Curwen for making that happen…😊
