We’re dialing in our gas lift dual shot surveys.
Starting to understand more characteristics of each kick and what they represent.
SOLID information is necessary!
#FluidLevels
Everybody wants to sell “optimization.”
But a bad fluid level survey can cost an operator tens of thousands of dollars.
There’s a lot of companies out there shooting fluid levels. Truth is, this is one of the simplest and most effective tests you can run on a well… IF it’s done right.
From one acoustic survey, you can gather:
• Pump intake pressure
• Static bottom hole pressure
• Gas interference indicators
• Fluid level above pump
• Production optimization insights
• Potential failure indicators
That little shot can influence major operational decisions.
But here’s the problem…
Too many people buy the equipment, throw somebody in the field with zero training, and start collecting bad data.
I remember what my first forman told me.
S.I.S.O - bad data in, bad data out.
Then the operator makes expensive decisions based on numbers that were wrong from the start.
Wrong POC adjustments.
Wrong pump recommendations.
Unnecessary workovers.
Lost production.
Wasted money.
In this business, accuracy matters.
If you’re gonna hire somebody to run fluid levels on your wells, make sure they know what they’re doing with that equipment.
Good data makes money.
Bad data costs money.

Why would you spend all that money just to do this? Might as well get a regular panel and run it on HAND. #FluidLevels
What you think?
“It’s just a drip.”
“It’s barely anything.”
“Why spend money fixing that?”
But here’s the real question…
At what point does “small” become a problem?
One leaking flange on one location may not seem like much. But multiply that across hundreds or thousands of facilities, tank batteries, compressors, and well sites across the basin… and now you’re talking about measurable environmental impact, product loss, safety exposure, regulatory attention, and public perception of our industry.
The best operators we work with don’t wait until a leak becomes catastrophic.
They fix the small stuff early.
Not because somebody forced them to…
Because good operations people understand discipline.
A loose bolt.
A worn gasket.
A slight seep.
A minor vapor leak.
Those little details usually tell a bigger story about maintenance culture, inspection programs, and operational standards.
The oilfield has fueled families, communities, schools, hospitals, and the American economy for generations. We can produce energy responsibly while still protecting the environment and reducing unnecessary emissions.
Curious what y’all think:
If an operator gets a report for a very small leak on a flange…
Do you fix it immediately?
Monitor it?
Or leave it alone until it worsens?
Let’s hear from the lease operators, pumpers, mechanics, engineers, and environmental teams.
