Most couples think the DJ just shows up and presses play. In reality, they’re the one controlling the flow, reading the room, guiding the timeline, and keeping the energy exactly where it needs to be all night.

From your grand entrance to your last song… they’re making sure everything actually feels right.

That’s why choosing the right DJ matters way more than most people realize.

This conversation with @djo611 is a reminder-your vendor team isn’t just there to show up, they’re there to carry the experience.

If you’re planning your wedding, don’t just ask what they do… ask how they make it feel.

Had a great convo with @djo611 about how there is so much that happens behind the scenes long before your wedding day ever begins.

Timeline prep. Communication between vendors. Planning for different scenarios. Making sure everyone knows where to be, when to be there, and how the day should flow.

By the time your wedding day arrives, your vendor team has already put in the work to make sure everything runs the way it should.

That’s why trusting your team matters so much.

It allows you to be present, enjoy the moments as they happen, and experience your day the way you’re meant to without worrying about what’s happening behind the scenes.

This is something we believe in heavily, and hearing @djo611 talk about how important a support system was to him during a difficult time… it hit home.

The vendors who last in this industry aren’t doing it alone. They have people around them. Whether that’s a team, a network, or a community, pushing them, supporting them, and helping them grow.

It makes a difference not just in business… but in how you show up for your couples.

Have you ever been in that phase where you’re doing the responsible thing, but also building something on the side, and both are starting to fight each other? One is paying your bills, the other one is quietly telling you this is the thing, and you don’t know when to pull the trigger.

That’s this episode.

We had @djo611 from @sceeventgroup on, and before we got into anything useful, we spent a solid chunk of time talking about @benlauphotodestroying his own car with a sponge, Ro curbing brand new wheels mid-OCD spiral, and whether Ben should bring back a 20-year-old baggy suit. Very on brand.

But underneath all that, there’s a real conversation about timing. When do you actually make the jump? What if you’re not ready? What if you wait too long? And the part nobody talks about- that middle phase where you’re grinding both sides and hoping it makes sense eventually.

Also, Ben made a spring Old Fashioned with bourbon, honey, lemon, and bitters. Thought it was Chris’ drink. It wasn’t. He drank it anyway. That’s how you know he’s a pro.

Ro’s learned more from image critiques than almost anything else in his career.

Years of sitting in print competition rooms at WPPI, hearing images broken down, understanding why something worked (or didn’t)… that’s where the real growth happened.

It’s evolved in recent years and the format isn’t as educational as it used to be- so it is something we are for sure missing.

The wheels have been turning and we have been wondering, Should we host our own FB live image critique?

We had a realization at a few conferences recently… There’s a growing gap between working photographers and photography influencers.

While both have a place, they’re not interchangeable. One is actively shooting, booking, problem-solving in real time. The other is building content around it.

Both can be valuable but they’re not the same. As a student, it’s important to know the difference. We think there’s value in learning from people who are still actively doing the work- booking clients, shooting weddings and navigating today’s market in real time.

We’ve been to a lot of @wppievents over the years, but WPPI 2026 stood out.

The education felt more aligned with where the industry actually is right now, and it was refreshing to see newer educators stepping in with real, current perspectives.

Excited to come back next year and see how it continues to evolve.

Wedding networking… but make it really fun.

FocusedAF meetups are where you come to learn a little, meet a lot of like-minded creatives, and leave with new connections (and definitely a drink in hand).

No pressure or awkward vibes. Just good people who care about this industry as much as you do.

Next one’s going down 4/22 at @902brewing in Jersey City 🍻

If you’ve been meaning to come… this is your sign.

Thanks @t44media for a little look into our last meetup at Source Brewing 🤍

We’ve been in this game far too long and we’ve seen both sides of the education space.

The people who are truly in it, doing the work, evolving, and being honest about their numbers…
and the ones teaching strategies that aren’t even working for them anymore.

We believe education should come from a place of transparency and real, current experience.
Because without that, it’s really hard to know what’s actually worth listening to.

After a six-month break, we’re back - and catching up on everything from life updates to what we saw at WPPI 2026. This year felt different. More focus on content creation, social media, and business education than ever before, along with a new wave of voices entering the industry.

In this episode, we break down the biggest shifts we’re noticing: the growing role of platforms like TikTok and YouTube, the balance between education and real-world experience, and how photographers can navigate all the noise without feeling overwhelmed. We also share our thoughts on community, meetups, and why building real relationships still matters more than ever.

If you’re a wedding photographer trying to stay relevant, grow your business, or just make sense of where things are headed, this is a grounded, honest conversation on what to pay attention to - and what to ignore.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
